Club Bylaws

Dynamic Speakers adheres to the "Constitution and Standard Bylaws for Clubs of Toastmasters International" set out by Toastmasters International.

In addition, the club has agreed to follow these additional functional rules:

  • Functional Rule 1: The Functional Rules help govern the running of Dynamic Speakers and its meetings. Rules may be added, removed, and modified by the approval of the majority of the Executive Board at an Executive Board Meeting.

  • Functional Rule 2: This club will observe a Pledge of Allegiance at the beginning of each meeting.

  • Functional Rule 3: The Vice President Education will schedule all roles, except speakers, for at least the next 4 weeks and provide a schedule listing the roles at regular business meetings. Speaking roles will be filled by volunteers.

  • Functional Rule 4:The Toastmaster for the meeting shall provide a "Word of the Day" to be used throughout the meeting. The first time a member uses the word during Table Topics, the members will rap the table in recognition. Members who fail to use the Word of the Day during Table Topics will not be eligible for Best Table Topics award voting at the end of the meeting.

  • Functional Rule 5: In addition to timing individual roles, the Timer is responsible for ensuring that the meeting stays on schedule. The Timer should flag the member at the lectern when the meeting is running overtime. For example, Table Topics may be designated to end at 12:10pm. It is the Timer's responsibility to notify the Table Topics Master when the time reaches 12:10pm.

  • Functional Rule 6: Table Topics Masters should work towards involving those without designated speaking roles for a meeting to ensure all members have the opportunity to participate in the meeting in a speaking capacity.

  • Functional Rule 7: In accordance with our host company, membership in the club is restricted to US Citizens.
