Club Bylaws
Dynamic Speakers adheres to the "Constitution and Standard Bylaws for Clubs of Toastmasters International" set out by Toastmasters International.In addition, the club has agreed to follow these additional functional rules:
- Functional Rule 1: The Functional Rules help govern the running of Dynamic
Speakers and its meetings. Rules may be added, removed, and modified by the
approval of the majority of the Executive Board at an Executive Board Meeting.
- Functional Rule 2: This club will observe a Pledge of Allegiance at the
beginning of each meeting.
- Functional Rule 3: The Vice President Education will schedule all roles,
except speakers, for at least the next 4 weeks and provide a schedule listing
the roles at regular business meetings. Speaking roles will be filled by
volunteers.
- Functional Rule 4:The Toastmaster for the meeting shall provide a
"Word of the Day" to be used throughout the meeting. The first time a member uses the
word during Table Topics, the members will rap the table in recognition. Members who
fail to use the Word of the Day during Table Topics will not be eligible for Best Table
Topics award voting at the end of the meeting.
- Functional Rule 5: In addition to timing individual roles, the Timer is responsible
for ensuring that the meeting stays on schedule. The Timer should flag the member at
the lectern when the meeting is running overtime. For example, Table Topics may be
designated to end at 12:10pm. It is the Timer's responsibility to notify the Table
Topics Master when the time reaches 12:10pm.
- Functional Rule 6: Table Topics Masters should work towards involving those
without designated speaking roles for a meeting to ensure all members have the
opportunity to participate in the meeting in a speaking capacity.
- Functional Rule 7: In accordance with our host company, membership in the club is restricted to US Citizens.
