Gravesite of Joyce Kilmer

[This is a photo I took of the gravesite of Joyce Kilmer] in the American Cemetery at Oise-Aisne. [Kilmer] wrote this fine poem [Rouge Bouquet] I send here the link thereto.

He served as Sergeant in the 165th US Infantry -- the former 69th NY -- the famous Irish-
American Regiment....

We were alone among the thousands of crosses. I placed the flag of our country and the green flag of Ireland on his grave and read this poem. As I did so, the bell in the chapel started tolling....
