Mythos
In 1986/87ish my good friend Silvergreen (although he wasn't known as such at the time) had a computer and was into the BBS thing(remember those?). I watched him play for awhile and became very interested in the idea of it... Imagine, talking to people from all over the country and even from other countries... to be able to get messages to them within a day without spending massive moneys on long distance...and having the opportunity to meet these people, to even know you want to send them a message. I was hooked before I ever touched a keyboard... - The Myth
I HAD to try this for myself...and was granted time by my generous friend. He told me I needed a HANDLE. A HANDLE? An opportunity to be someone else... as I didn't really like me at the time, I was all to happy to adopt a new me. I was (am) a role-player, or more precisely someone into role-playing games (i.e. Dungeons and Dragons), so I was no stranger to inventing personalities. But I knew this one HAD to be special. I wanted a name that NO ONE else had or would choose, one that represented who I was and who I wanted to be. Then I remembered another time that I was looking for the same qualities in a name, when I had created a net runner character for the Cyberpunk RPG (one of the best games written). I typed the name that was inspired by William Gibson's Nuromancer at the prompt and the rest is Cyberhistory.
Neuro- having to do with the mind and the Neural synapses...the connection of mind to computer the fusion of man and machine by way of electrical impulses known as Neurons.
Dancer - To dance is to build control over something for the shear enjoyment of doing the thing, a dancer gains control by letting go and losing control. This is the way that my mind works. I find the ultimate joy in twisting my mind into ungodly strange positions and thoughts are but props on my mental stage... I seek beauty in thought and the expression of it
There was one minor kink in my HANDLE... it's 11 characters long and most of the name prompts of the time and thereafter only accepted 10 character names. So I was forced to drop the 'e'. But I later realized that it was just another way to insure that my name was safe...because it was misspelled.
This is me, in all of my non-cyber glory. I'm a 28 year old Aquarius who lives with a beautiful Taurus (yeah, for all you into Astrology, a Taurus/Cancer/Taurus...go figure) named Raven Ash Silverwind, three cats (Jake, Spot, and Vicky), and a 65%/35% gray wolf/husky (Akasha).
As you can tell from my page, I am into many things but my primary interest has always been social interaction and the search for true reality. I believe that Love is the highest power in the Universe. That it is the force that not only brings two people together but also holds the planets in their orbits and the molecules to their bondings. Reality can be found in the things we take for granted and our choice of words when we communicate.
I am also into things of an occluded nature whether scientific advancements or mystic experiences. I am an explorer, therefore I am a role-player. For the only way to truly understand a thing is to become the thing.
I am an Empath...which has served me well in my explorations.
