Rise and Shine | by Carden Alphonso Michael |
Rise and shine giving praise to his majesty.
Sing forth honor and glory at sunrise.
Rise, rise above principality and spiritual wickedness
in high places.
Rise, rise above hostility and intimidation.
Let them not stay in your way.
Let them not interrogate you,
be judge and jury over you
to sentence you to death.
Rise.
Let your countenance sparkle as the sun.
As a blooming flower,
let it display it’s vibrant color.
Let God’s glory that is upon you,
dispel the enemy from your presence.
Shine as Brother Moses descending from Mount Sinai
or as Christ on the day of transfiguration.
Let not sadness come into your heart
causing your countenance to fade.
Let not self pity invade your mind
causing you to become your own worse enemy.
Rise.
Liberate your face from distress and anguish,
from calamity and anxiety.
Rise.
Let your countenance shine.
As iron sharpens iron,
one man’s countenance brightens another.
