My Dream | by John Lai |
I stumbled upon this strange new world
And it greets me with a heart and smile.
I feel as if I had been spun and whirled,
To a place where home lies many miles.
This utopia is green and peaceful,
And the trees I see stretch beyond the sky.
The coloured flowers look so beautiful,
In abundance which satisfies my eye.
I look upon this wilderness of joy,
And it quickly calms me of my stress and fear.
Hatred and malice I can now avoid,
Because they do not have a place in here.
I look back beyond this dreamy kingdom,
Back to the edge of tall trees I came through.
I can see a land where love is seldom,
Where happiness and hope is felt by few.
The land where people expose aggression,
In the horrific realm I know as home.
A world where soul-searching was my obsession,
And a place where my heart had turned to stone.
I look at this heaven where no one screams,
As my sense of guilt sheds a saddening tear.
I'm a man taking salvage in a dream,
With a stone heart that has no place in here.
I tread my way out of this place and back home,
Knowing very well of what I am to do.
This dream I have seen is not to be my own,
But I will make my home a paradise too.
Brief Description:
A person walks into a heavenly looking forest which
helps calm and ease his mind. He soon feels a great sense of guilt for trying to hide himself from the horrors of the world.
