The Ankh

The Ankh, also know as the "Crux Ansata", is the the symbol of life. It is made from a loop, or circle, placed on top of a "T". The loop represents the female and the "T" represents the male, who together generate existence.

It is an Ancient Egyptian symbol. When worn by a God it symbolised creative power; it was also worn to bring knowledge and abundance. The loop at the top of the cross consists of the Egyptian hieroglyphic "Ru" (O) meaning gateway or mouth. The Ankh also represents the "key" of the Nile. Some say that it is linked with Atlantis. The symbol of Venus originated from the Ankh.
