Calcite is a transparent crystal and is found in a variety of colours. It is used in spells to 'double the power' of the rite because of its optical quality of double refraction. (If you look through a piece of calcite which has been placed over a line, drawn on to a piece of paper, the line will appear to be doubled.)

Calcite is a balancer. It can balance the male/female polarities, as well as the emotions, by helping you to stay grounded. It inspires joy as well as lightness of being. It is claimed that it can improve Astral Projection.

Clear Calcite can be used as a focus for meditation and in spirituality rituals. Pink Calcite is calming and centering and can be used in love rituals. Blue Calcite can be worn during purification ceremonies. Blue Calcite is also a healing stone and can be used by wearing it, or placing it between flaming blue, or purple candles. (It is thought to benefit, in particular, the spleen, the kidneys and the pancreas.) Orange Calcite is a protective stone and is also said to 'give energy to the body' when held.

Green Calcite can be used to draw money and prosperity. Try surrounding some green Calcite with green candles and every morning light the candles and let them burn for a few minutes, whilst visualising your desire for more funds to be forthcoming!
