CYPRESS ~ (Cupressus
Semperivens) (odour intensity 4)
The oil comes from the leaves and fruit of the Cypress tree, and the trees are grown in
France.
The odour of Cypress is piney, refreshing and woody, and, I think, absolutely gorgeous..
It is the sort of smell that I would love in my house, everywhere, and all the time! The toxicity rating of this
oil is D, and is, therefore, quite a mild oil.
It blends well with Clary Sage, Frankincense, Juniper, Lavender, Lemongrass, Marjoram and
Teatree, and its special property is Astringent.
It is invaluable for haemorrhoids, varicose veins, phlebitis and is also used in menstrual
and menopausal disorders (prolapse) as it reduces excessive perspiration.
If you have a problem with gingivitis and bleeding gums make a mouth wash with 2 drops of
Cypress in water and swish around your mouth twice per day.
Cypress is a powerful anti-spasmodic, being especially useful for asthma and whooping
cough as it sedates, particularly the nerve endings of the respiratory tract.
Just at the end of my notes is a little recipe for smelly feet. Use Cypress in conjunction
with Teatree, and use it regularly say I!!!
Enjoy your oils.
