It is worn by riders to protect them from falls and is also attached to the horses saddle or bridle to protect the horse from injury.It is thought of as a lucky stone and wealth-attracting, so carrying a small piece of turquoise in your purse should ensure that it is never empty well, it will always have the turquoise in it anyway! Turquoise, when worn or carried, will attract good fortune. Turquoise is a wonderful gift to give to a loved one, it is a stone of love and said to ensure marital harmony. It is also a stone of friendship wearing turquoise will help to attract new friends into your life. As a healing stone it is used to balance the chakras, healing on physical, emotional and spiritual levels. It is said to dispel headaches, bring down fevers and help fight eye infections. It was believed that by pressing a piece of turquoise against the skin, and visualising the illness entering the stone, diseases could be cured. Turquoise is worn to promote a sound mind in a healthy body. Turquoise also reminds us of our link to the Earth and our responsibility to care for her. During healing meditations and Global Earth-Healing days light a pale blue candle (if you like to burn incense, or use an oil burner during meditation try using Niaouli or Eucalyptus oil).
