I hope you guys know were Argentina is located and if you happen to need something about Jorge Luis Borges (he is my favourite argentinian writers and one of the greatest in contemporary literature) just let me know. I would like to know more about you. Talk to you soon Silvina

Very nice site . . . one that I plan on returning to. I've always been intrigued by the Great Books series (I recently purchased a set that has the original copyright date, from '53 or so??). Anyway, I haven't read the works extensively at all, but hope to. Keith J.

thank you for your assistance in this matter.

It saddens me that "Great Books" includes almost no women! The canon does contain some great literature; however, the sky would not fall if someone, somewhere decided to include more than just two tokens to the exclusive men's club of "great writers."

Classical thinking must be returned to the center of our educational system. I find it amazing that many of the books on your list were used in humanities and literature courses that I took as part of my standard high school education. What is even more frightening is that I am only 50 years old. If we required the average high school student to have to take such a course, the uproar from students and parents would be deafening

Hello from another Mercer GBK alum! Who would have thought ten years ago that such a neat webpage would have come out of our afternoon classes pouring through all those books by dead white men? :-) Joking aside, the GBK program was a powerful tool for teaching us HOW to really read the beating heart of a book. I'm proud of you guys for promoting it on the Web. Good job.
