News, Information, &
Announcements

Charleston, WV, Area Alumnae Chapter

Good News...
Melissa Hatfield recently announced
her engagement and forthcoming marriage to Mark Atkinson from Bridgeport, WV. Their wedding date has been set for April 21, 2001 in Beckley, WV and they plan to reside in the Charleston area. Missy and Mark met when she lived in Clarksburg, WV and have been together almost 4 years.
Congratulations...
Christa Marie Ours, one of our recent Gamma Mu graduates, wed Todd Nichols at a beautiful ceremony in Barboursville on June 17, 2000.  Many collegiates and alumnae were in attendance.  Christa got a wonderful job offer in South Carolina, so she and Todd are moving there after they return from their honeymoon.  If you would like Christa's email, send Amy an email.

Graduation News...
Four Gamma Mu sisters graduated this semester.  We wish Christa Ours, Krechella Nichols, Sara Witt, and Megan Longenacre the best of luck in all their future endeavors and welcome them into the large assembly of
AST alumnae.

Expecting Mother...
Congratulations to Lisa & Randy Wyatt on the news of their expecting a baby!  She is doing fine and is due in early December 2000.

Fond Farewell....
We have to say Good-Bye to Heather Morris as she moves to Florida the first week of May.  She has been wanting to move there for a while and jumped at the chance after her visit there early in the year.  She will be sadly missed, but you can still keep in touch via her email, hdawnmorris@hotmail.comAmy Hendershot can also give you her mailing address--Heather isn't on-line as much anymore so snail mail is the way to get something to her.

Home Sweet Home...
Libby (Williams) and Anthony Akers recently purchased their first house.  Their beautiful home is in Adena Village, near Tech. She is hoping to have us all up to the new place for summer meeting.

Baby News...
Mia Burlingame Ferguson and her husband, Curtis, recently received word that their plans for adopting a baby from India are moving briskly forward.  They have chosen a little girl from Tandor, India.  She was born July 25, 1999.  They are hoping to have her in their home by July of 2000!

Birth Announement...
Amy Kozielec Griffith and her husband, Paul, were blessed with an 8 lb. 3 oz. baby girl on Easter Sunday.  Cora Alexandra and her mother are both doing fine.

Money in the bank...
THANKS!!! to everyone who participated in and contributed to the yard sale on April 15th.  Hope Fout, Kristi Legg, Amy Hendershot, Tammy St.Clair and Heather Morris donated sale items.   Tammy and Amy spent the morning at the park selling all of our treasures.  We made about $45 and donated the left over items to Goodwill.  We kept our prices low, so that $45 represents great sales.  Everyone who bought something bought several things!  People were leaving our area with bags of loot!

We are all smiles...
for Stacey Daniel and her recent reappointment to the position of Upsilon District President which includes Delta Chapter (at Indiana University of Pennsylvania), Beta Delta Chapter (at Duquesne University) and Beta Phi Chapter (at California University of Pennsylvania).

Thumbs Up!
Missy Hatfield was recently appointed as District President for the Xi district, which includes Gamma Mu (her alma mater) in Montgomery and Delta Beta in Fairmont.
