December 5, 1999, meeting. Committee chairs are still looking for
alumnae sisters to actively serve on their committees. If you are

Duties of Alumnae Chapter Officers
As identified
in Bylaws, Article I, Section 1-8 of Alumnae Constitution
President
- Preside at all meetings
- Appoint and dissolve committees, the selection
of which has not been otherwise made available
- Be a member ex-officio of all committees,
except the Nomination Committee
- Have general supervision of the chapter's
activities subject to approval of the membership
Vice President
- Perform the duties of the President in case of
the latter's absence or disability
- Be Chairman of Social Committee
Recording Secretary
- Call roll at all business meetings
- Keep
a correct record of the business transacted at meetings
Treasurer
- Receive and keep a permanent record of all
funds of the chapter
- Keep such funds in a manner approved by the
chapter
- Pay all bills for the expenditures which have
been authorized by the chapter
- Preserve all bills and receipts for three years
Historian
- Prepare the chapter's history each year as
directed by the National Historian
Chaplain
- Conduct the inspirational or devotional part of
each meeting
Editor
- Prepare the chapter's articles for The
Anchor
- Be Chairman of the Publicity Committee
Alumnae Panhellenic Delegate
- Represent
the chapter in the local Alumnae Panhellenic organization
Listings & Duties of Committees
As
identified in Bylaws, Article II, Section 1-10 of Alumnae Constitution
Alumnae-Collegiate Liaison
- Will initiate and/or maintain close
relationships with local or nearby collegiate chapters
- May assist with their rush, pledge
instructional classes, chapter parties, philanthropic projects, Founder's Day observances,
job opportunities, or give any other special assistance as requested by the collegians
Courtesy Committee
- Shall take care of all courtesy matters for
the chapter
Executive Committee
- Shall consist of the chapter officers and such
chairmen as are deemed necessary
- Shall meet at least twice a year and, if
possible, before regular business meetings to discuss chapter problems
- Minutes of each meeting shall be kept and read
at the regular chapter business meeting. The
chapter will accept or revise the minutes.
Philanthropy Committee
- Shall be responsible for the chapter's local
philanthropic work
- Shall have charge of raising money for the
national philanthropy projects
Membership Committee
- Shall have charge of getting new members for
the chapter
Music Committee
- Shall have charge of the chapter's music
- Shall encourage the writing of new sorority
songs
Program Committee
- Shall plan the meetings for the year, submit
its plans at each annual meeting, and prepare an annual yearbook or directory for the
chapter
Social Committee
- Shall have charge of all social affairs
