Ralph Swinburn of Chowdean, Durham

Chowdean is situated on the southern borders of Gateshead, on a hillside to the north of Lamesley and separated from Lamesley by the A69. From the rural village of Lamesley you pass under the A69 across a large roundabout into the built up urban area of Chowdean - most of the housing and ammenities are quite modern - February 2003
