3. Grounding meditation
The grounding meditation establishes the participants in the ritual as
secondary axis, connecting Earth and sky.
The meditation should open channels to energy flow, between the Earth and
sky through the participants. It should also stabilize the energy flow at a
higher plateau. At the end of the meditation people should feel vibrant, yet
balanced.
We usually use a tree meditation. This establishes a connection with the earth,
a connection with the sky and a channel between them. This can also include
the metaphor of the grove of trees as a community.
Grounding Meditation
"Let us stop a moment and find our centers.
Feel the strength of the earth that supports us.
Feel the freedom of the air that surrounds us.
Make yourself the tree that connects them.
Rooted in the earth, branches reaching for the sky
Wiggle your toes into the dirt. Dig down into the cool ground.
Reach for the sun.
Comb your fingers through the wind.
You are a sacred part of the cycle of life."
