MTV Lame
Like many weeknights,
I spent my evening last night switching back and forth between MTV,
VH1 and the Discovery Channel. "Behind the Music" was
on, which featured Alice Cooper. (Never been a fan but I finally
found out who the heck Alice is.) Discovery was showing some amazing
footage of space while pondering the are we alone question, and
MTV had a good idea of a show called "Twenty-Five Lame."
Now, it`s a good idea because it highlights a list of music videos
that, over the years have become to define past-decade cheesiness.
Stuff that you know you had in your tape player, and somehow
mysteriously dissappears and pops up in your sister`s room five
years later. I`m talking about the Rico Suave`s and the Vanilla
Ice`s of music. I am even talking about the 80s hair bands that
we all grew up and uh, rocked to. (Yes, and I`m proud to say I still
like Poison!)
The hosts were established comedians like Leary, Stewart, Garafaolo
and that dude from SNL, (not Will Farrow, but the other guy in "Night
of the Roxbury.")
