Mantram of Fire.
I seek the Way; I yearn to know. Visions I see, and fleeting deep impressions. Behind the Portal, on the other side, lies that which I call home, for the circle has been well-nigh trod, and the end approaches the beginning.
I seek the Way. All ways my feet have trod. The Way of Fire calls me with fierce appeal. Naught in me seeks the way of peace; naught in me yearns for earth.
Let the fire rage, the flames devour; let all the dross be burnt; and let me enter through the Gate, and tread the Way of Fire.

Also this mantram (One of the most potent mantrams is
it called by Forster Bailey) is part of the new world religion, not to
mention the yoga of fire. But make sure you don't use this mantram until
you are ready for the consequences in your own personality. You may want
to change the world, but can only do so by changing yourself. In fact it
is just around here the seeling of the door, where evil dwels, is to find
its place. That is one of the reasons of the delay of perhaps 70 years
counting from the first objective signs of the decision of return
of the Christ, around the first world war. However the fundamental
changes during the world wars will ensure a much deeper change in civilisation
in Aquarious, some of which was not supposed to be manifested until Capricorn.
Just like the individual soul attempt to fuse and blend as much with the
personality as possible in any cycle, so the human hierachy does in relation
to Humanity. And this is only one of many hierachies at work on the planet.
(7-2) Changing Esoteric Values (10-5-04, A..Z)
The Affirmation of a Dispicle.
I am a point of light within a greater light.
I am a strand of loving energy within the stream of
Love divine.
I am a point of sacrificial fire, focussed within
the fiery Will of God.
And thus I stand.
I am a way by which men may achieve.
I am a source of strength, enabling them to stand.
I am a beam of light, shining upon thier way.
And thus I stand.
And standing thus, revolve
And tread the way the ways of men,
And know the ways of God.
And thus I stand.
Often we try to explain, that the rays are changing, the
seventh ray is increasingly influential, and the sixth ray is on its way
out. Not surprising, most sixth ray people believe you are crazy, and will
point their finger to the nasty world situation or the wellknown ideals
and constructions of Pisces. You may try to insist, that the whole foundation
is changing, and it takes time and carefull planning, but what you see
is of course coloured by your own preferences. In fact the traces are only
obvious to the seventh ray people, that will eventually do a great work
in the transformation process. So much strength is needed in the comming
years of friction and rebuilding. To that end, many vitalising or purifying
mantras are available, in e.g. the little book Reflections by Foster
Bailey, also containing interpretations and practical advice. Appart
from the Great Invocation, the perhaps most powerfull mantram is The
Affirmation of a Disciple. It should be used daily and whenever needed.
The life of Foster Bailey and Alice A.Bailey is to be notified, one
with 1st ray soul and 2nd ray body, the other with 2nd ray soul and 1st
ray personality. We may also remind you, that wheneve you do your duties
and work hard, others will always take care of your own needs. The best
recepie is detachment and balanced work in unison with the purpose of your
group, as far as you can recognise and comprehend this purpose. The only
safe channel is the Antahkarana. When ever the groups are founded of those
fiery triads suited for the first steps into the new age, the personalities
may fail and even be discarded for a while, but the group work goes on,
at triadic levels. Only at these levels is there a chance of working with
the dynamic life of the planet, the rest below is pure reflection (cf.
the cave myth of Plato).
(7-3) "The Return of the King": an attribute to the half-long and to Agni Yoga in the Epoque of Women. (5-6-04, L. Phing)
"May the Power of the one Life pour through the group
of all true servers.
"May the Love of the One Soul characterize the lives
of all who seek to aid the Great Ones.
"May I fulfil my part in the One work through self-forgetfulness,
harmlessness and right speech."
The mantram above is used by many workers within the New Group of World Servers, around five p.m. in order to strengthen the bands horizontally and vertically, as a midday recollection.
In this comming Age of Maitrea, which according to the Puranas also should be the Epoque of Women, the whole foundation of the civilisation is different, due to the end of the Atlantic cycle, marked by the final world wars and the willingness of the majority within Humanity to pay the needed sacrifices. Tension and recognition of patterns are both indispensable to the next step, aiming at fulfilling the purpose. The individual and the many groups now working to establish a new worldorder are not working blindly. Even though the knowers are still few, the medium of films and television are great tools in the formation of those new ideals and idols, that already are quite visible in the world today, based on the need to right human relations. On top of this we also have the many books available in plain english. Not to forget the international networks, that relate not only horizontally.
In the past, the ring or cycle have been governed by distant constallations, letting in certain stimulations from Draco, that could have been dissastreous from a human point of view, whatever that matters. However the New Age is also an age where the increasing influence from Sirius will be felt even in our tiny place within this solarsystem, and top-down open up new opportunities to the fusion of the Hierachy and Humanity, corresponding to the fusing of soul and personality. Even that however is only a step towards new and greater fusions, within the great sirlian triangle.
The halflong is the term used by others (little more than half through the cycle), but the hobbits are not small in their own optic. All is relative to the spiritual unit in consideration. It may be said, the emotional reactions are out of the place in the life of the disciple. This of course should not lead to premature suppression of reactions from the undeveloped personality, and certainly not lead to neglect of the attitude of compasion, the Law of Laws. But when these small creatures (which resemble ourselves) are appointed to cary the ring to its destruction, it also marks the recognition of certain karma, plus the statement, that the greater always contains the smaller as an aspect, hence the danger to more powerfull creatures to carry the ring of powers. The karma from the previous solar system is said to possess many secrets that will be comprehended only after the great sacrifice.
And sacrifice is what the Agni Yogi must comprehend, not emotionally but with all of his or her soul-infused personality. Here the word sacrifice connotate will and direction, not pain and agony, though these often are the companions on this planet. But the onepointedness towards goalfittness and fulfilling purpose should be emphasized.
The final parts of the movie "The return of the King" is quite moving, with its attribute to heroism and willingness to sacrifice. The need for groupwork is obvious. Even between men and elves, some of the latter now accepting the experience of physical bodies and consequent physical living and physical death. And the powers of women towards anscient ghosts should not be diminished. The two scarred worriers sitting on the rock amidst the red glowing magma and melted lava until rescued from the air by the white master, as well as the return to the Shire,here hardly recognised except perhaps in relation to their new outer garment (considered as follies and then forgotten), are two sides of the necessesarily detached work of the disciple, still in the world but no longer quite of the world. The departure to the higher work and its relation to the higher evolutions, the goal for the Agni Yogi in training, as well as the project of divine living in the world, also marks the end of this trilogi. This is the scope of the comming age.
In relation to the comming of the Christ, we should notify three important though not quite distinctive fields of work within Humanity. First of all we have the small group-disciples now going out. They are usually part of the work within the great group of world servers now counting their members in their millions. Finally we have the whole of humanity, directed through a chain of interrelated groups. The important phase now facing us until around 2025 is the focus of the fact of the reapperance of the Christ and the externalisation of the White Hierachy, and its immeadiate consequences, not in religious terms but in terms of right human relations and practical physical livingness, the field for the seventh ray worker par excellence. Also here movies are of great help.
In relation to the Psychology of the Seven Rays (and some
of its exoteric forrunners by e.g. R.Assagioli and even H.Gardner), in
itself a bridge between the intelligentsia and the new group of world serves,
the many dramas of Shakespeare have often been mentioned as a collection
of case-studies. Hitherto these dramas have been filmed as Shakespeare
dramas. The new trend however is the long series of teenage movies, that
take up these psychological problems in a modern set-up. Its tittles are
not always as easily reccognisable as O. for Othello, but
their function is clear to the seventh ray worker. Many other aspects of
divine living may call in the need for heroism in daily life, based on
a moral stand.Walt Disney's Donald Duck (last week celebrating his
seventy years anniversary) and his many collegues may also support us,
when we try our best to do our part of the One Work.

During the last years of the new millennium I have increasingly been wondering why so many groups in Scandinavia and the US, probably also elsewhere in the West, are becomming so fascinated of the books of Lucille Cedercrans and a few others, often written before the interim-phase 1975-2025 and with certain characteristics in common. It seems to be in line with the sidetrackings anticipated by the Tibetan as a prologue to the new seventh ray civilisation: the claim-making ambitious or partially blind teachers feeding their groups with decayed leaves from an illusive and Atlantean Garden-of-Eden-remembrance, and no doubt with a subtle touch from the dark ones.
The rescepie is similar to e.g. some of the writings from the Theosophical Society after the death of H.P.B. and until the death of C.W.Leadbetter. First one adapt a kind of familiarity with some of the fundamental concepts given out in some primary impulse from the great Ashram of Sanat Kumara, in this case the writings on group-discipleship, group-initiations and the Seven Rays, on top of the traditional theosophical technicallities, displayed in an ambiguitive manner. Then one adds a huge number of details on e.g. magic or the adored ashramic life, that can be neither verified nor falsified by the average reader, in the sense of being litterarily coherrent or discoherrent with the newest set of writings available to the public and accepted by the mainstream of esoteric students. From its very tune and quality some of the more experienced students as well as those engulfed with some specific narrow tradition will be lost here. The remaining group will then be stimulated with a number of rethorical and psychological means, that could bring forth old and well hidden experiences from the Atlantean civilisation and its modern tentative revivals. As always when the intelligence aspect is used thoughroughly, the dark ones are in many ways almost right from a certain point of view. In fact only a close analysis of the method (using fogg as well as authoritative attitudes) and those concepts that seem to have high priority or seep in with conclusve statements, will eventually produce the certainty, that might save further waste of time, energy and money.
So much for the very problem of recognising the mixed sources of such writings. But in a time where goodwill should be more than a word we are then confronted with the need to decide, if such writings and organisations should be opposed actively or simply allowed to die out with their socalled inspired leaders or group of admitted teatchers. No simple attitude is possible at the moment, since the public rather than the group of probationaries are the important target for the next step towards externalisation of the Hierachy, but we should however remember, that the effects of silence may be as dire as the overkilling of the tendencies discussed. The use of substitution, appealing to perhaps untraditional representations like the Harry Potter books may work out with the seventh ray people, rather than the singling out in e.g. the vast core of Bailey books. When the genuine strand of love and compassion is replaced by arrid technicalities, suggestive tests for readiness for initiations through skills in magic, not to mention definite and pure nonsense, perhaps cammouflaged behind mathematics or quasi-symbolism, it is probably even better directly to point out the world need, and put emphasis to the goal of establishing right human relations. After all the door to the evil can only be closed within each and every human being, and the disciple should always work through his own example rather than spend energy with fruitless criticism that usually only stimulates the evil for a period. But in the personal relation to his local environment, the member of the New Group of World Servers should be aware of the dangers of too polite an attitude to the dark sources, that respect only their own survival. It would be even better, if we made it quiet clear to ourselves, that only after 2025 is the fourth ray monad accessible, so that premature personality reactions would be prevented.

"I have set down the foundation of Agni Yoga in four directions,
like the pistil of a flower.
I have affirmed Agni Yoga as the pillars of My Steps
and have received into My Hands the fire of the Stone.
To her I gave the fiery Stone, who by Our decision shall
be named the Mother of Agni Yoga, because she concecrated herself to the
test of the Fire of Space."

In the writings of Origen we have on the ground of Christianity a clear affirmation of daring goal-fitness: emulate the Christ. Ever since has the priesthood degraded, descending into materialism. Later Soeren Kierkegaard repeated the same command. He also knew the great opportunity in working with energies. His writings emphasized over and over the value of passionate action: it is not so important what you choose as the energy you apply, if the energy is strong and sincere, a bad choice will be corrected (sometimes during the long path, first the personality is created by the control of fear and despair, then the stage, where the personality is sacrificed to the higher, through the path of eternal resignation of selfhood, but karma is only the condition of the choices made on that path). The psychic energy collected over time can easily disappear, if the action is not wholehearted, fearless and in the last instance transmitted on a wave of impersonal love. Kierkegaard himself understood he wrote for the future, and his mission is becomming more clear today than ever. First of all we have the many people who need to think things through for themselves, and act accordingly, all those who finally begin to realize that they have a mind of their own, how illusory however this solicity may be. In this manner his work was coordinated with the writings of Robert Browning and F. Dostojevsky. But like these writers, his work was not aiming primarily at transforming the outer world directly and on shorter sight (always so acutely in desperate need), such as the writings of Dickens and Hugo. They all worked at the end of an epoque, in order to bridge the new civilisation. As the writings of the Christ and the Budda, so little is still manifested in the physical world. But behind the formal writings we also recognize a basic knowledge of the spirit behind the concepts of soul or self, and a spectaculary life displayed on the world scene. The power of personal examples are underestimated. Even slandering may be helpfull in the tension leading to the birth of new creations of thought.
The knowledge of energy is not a theoretical study to
the agni yogi. It must be observed and studied in order to be used without
violating the karmas. That is why the concept "I" should only be used to
notify a special responsibility and obligation. Else the concept of "We"
should be applied. Then of course there is "They", but first we must learn
to act impersonally. The dark ones are as differentiated as human life.
Their conscious helpers have the advantage of knowing the basic rules of
energy transmission and use this knowledge to corrupt the consciousness
of human beings in a multitude of ways, working with the flaws of fear,
anger, doubt, depression, greed and pride. It is not enough to be "good"
or "intelligent" (in whatever common interpretation) to avoid the constant
attacs of the dark ones. They have infused the environment for ages. They
now fight with desperate anger for their survival, and their fuel is the
coarse emotions and the selfish thoughtlife so central to what is called
public opinion. It is time that the real scenario become public at least
to those who shall protect the little ones and direct a safe transferrence
of Humanity into the New Age civilisation, so utterly different from the
present piscean civilisation, with its dualism and abstract idealism, leading
to selfishness and materialism, and mindless relions to relieve the bad
consciousness, if to heavy to neglect. It is time we learn about energies,
so that we can cope with the intruders of every day life. The cunning ones
are not so many, and only by keeping the churches and the sciences in the
hands of greedy and ambitious leaders and keeping up an unjust economic
situation for the many, can this mascerade go on. The needed observations
should be applied in toil and battle, and goal-fit actions are both physical
and mental. However the need for a new Yoga is becomming obvious to many.
Fearlesness and goal-fit actions will implement the new civilisation, and
though already we see scarred warriors in the smoke and dust of the ruins
of the shattered institutions, their numbers will increase according to
the realisation of the methods and goals of the new yoga. Even when the
workers seem outnumbered, the Hierachy stands as the protecting shield.
In the work, only the needed purification will be felt, and we recommend
valerian and musk to regenerate fatigue, and of course caution and extreme
alertness during the battles. The many desires can be conquered by only
one: the joyous striving for Beauty in All. The agni yogi has thus desires,
but he is liberated for their slavery, and can apply the inexaustable reservoirs
of the Cosmos as long as he passes on every treasure received from above.
Thus will the chains of the dark ones drive humanity to the gates of salvation.
Now take your stand and joyfully join the battleground, the victory is
close, and the element of fire is all-permeating.
(7-6) If you dislike the name arrows of fire, you may instead speak of messenger pigeons. Yes, the air is filled with arrows. (19-7-04, R.O.)

House.
I know thee.
Thou hast become subtle and resourceful,
Even more resourceful than many of Mine.
Thou hast fastened thy clasps and prepared thy garments.

But here I shall stop thee.
Thou dost not dare pronounce the joy of love.
Thy joy is the joy of hatred.
But behind hatred is hovering the loathsome shadow of
doubt.
And doubt is not worthy of a shield.

But if thou persist,

"Urusvati. It is time to say that this is the name
We have given to the star which is irresistibly approaching the Earth.
Since long ago it has been the symbol of the Mother of the World, and the
Epoch of the Mother of the World must begin at the time of Her star's unprecedented
approach to Earth. The Great Epoch is beginning, because the spirit understanding
is linked with the Mother of the World. (...) it will substantially change
the life of the Earth. A Great Epoch! I rejoice so much, seeing how the
new rays are piercing the thickness of the Earth. Even though in the beginning
they are hard to bear, yet their emanasions induces new elements, so needed
for the impetus. New rays are reaching the Earth for the first time since
its formation."

Do you sense the quality of the air, filled with the repercussions
from the battle on the subtler planes. The dark ones are bewildered how
to smite the fragile harmony established and are no longer convinced, that
the bush can hide them for another period, and that conflict between
China and Taiwan may be their last chance
of nuclear war. Also the war-mongers in the West are
sensing the tension, attempting to calculate the odds of various scenarios.
Even the situation in the Middle East is no longer stable.
The effects of the Will are always to be estimated with the Ethics of Life. Often great tension evoke the best thoughts. Earthly fatigue and pains are messengers of the awakening spirit - creative, divisible and often bricks in the wall against cosmic evil. The dates are inevitable but karma is always only the condition of the choices, the UN is better prepared than ever, and we shall take the stern lessons with a smile. But the cunning ones will be disapointed in their fiery rage.
In the New Age peace will no longer be considered
a fantasy suited for romantic dreamers, and ugly traces of the past
cleansed from the crunch of the Earth will accompagny the approaching hour.
Meanwhile the Hierachy stands like a protecting wall, and only human flaws
limmit the speed towards the manifestation of Beauty. Harken to the heralds
announcing the Epoch of Maitraya and receive the envoys of the Mother of
Agni. The Flowers of the Spirit will blossom and unprecedented wonders
are in their seeds.
(7-7) Unfucking the World (1-8-04, T. Reeble d'Or)
"First of all, let us keep in mind that it is impossible
to retard the process of ripening fruit. Let us review the pages of history:
The time came for liberation of thought, and the stakes of the Inquisition
blazed; yet thought flowed on. The time came for people's rule, and the
firing squad began to thunder. The time came for the development of technics,
and the retrogrades were terrified; but the machines moved on, pulsating
in the tempo of evolution. Now has come the time for realization of psychic
energy. All inquisitors, retrogrades, wiseacres and ignorant ones may be
terrified, but the possibility of the new attainment of humanity has ripened
in
all its incalculable potentiality. Inquisitors and retrogrades may build
jails and asylums which will be fit enough for them later in labor colonies.
But turn back the matured step of evolution is impossible. Just as it is
impossible to deprive humanity of all the ways of communication. The denier
of evolution can withdraw into hermit life and dream about lights of regress.
But life itself, reality itself, will indicate new, incotestable manifestations."

"Prana and Akasha. It is not the "Creator" nor "the Great
Builder", it is Infinity. At the Approach of Satya Yoga these spatial forces
will be utilized. True, in the consciousness of the self-crowned ignoramuses
the frigidity of the Stone Age still prevails. You are right in speaking
of the One Origin. Herin precisely is the core of evolution contained.
In this cognition is the Arhat's highest attainment on Earth. (...)
The kindling of the center of the lungs has afforded the yogis of all posibilities,
including those for the higher manifestations. Yogis have manifested themselves
in flying in the air and in walking upon the water ... but there are higher
missions (...) When the centers of a flaming Agni Yogi are ablaze,
it can be ascertained that the subterranean and superterranean fires are
strained towards manifestation."

When you look for co-workers, use the old method of the East: look at the eyes, the gait and the voice. Words means nothing, and the voice and gait may be tempered by a special tallent, however the eyes can never lie (even in the subtle world) and in combination it gives unmistakable signs. Quality, not number, is important. The Law of Karma is working together with the Law of Dates. The first is related to ballance and harmony, where as the other decide when to prompt the unavoidable dates for reballancing. Don't miss an opportunity. The constant overburdening and the closest link with the Teacher is the path into infinity, yes, the Agni yogi contain always a Bhakta and Raja yogi.
In the Harry Potter novels we are constantly confronted with the writers deep knowledge to the esoteric tradition (see e.g. the Beacon for May/June and July/August 2004), but far more, of the technique of displaying esoterism to the public, so that each get according to understanding and need. The special use of certain unusual negations (with the prefix "un" or "dis") is characteristic for the language used in the Agni Yoga Teachings, with the mark of the first ray Chohan, but as it is also said here: "for all". Moreover, in Geoffry Hodsons Diary, M. warns (in the seventies) agains humanity's apparant selfdestruction, concluding that only Theosophy can save the world. In the same context, M. is asked how to get out the informations, answering that is should be made so interesting and fascinating, that no-one would prefer anything else. And that is what the books of Harry Potter does to many young people and their parants. Unmasking the lack of need for complicated formulas in magical work apart from onepointedness (the formulas in latin are simply affirmations), the main issue is always the fight between the two lodges, the White and the Black, representing good and evil. And any use of magic exausting the capacity of science today are hidden to the "mugglers". Also the many allusions to group-discipleship and even the new teaching of the monad and its relation to far-off worlds makes this fascinating litterature a masterpiece, originating from the very same source as e.g. utopian socialism and liberalism. As you may nosify. We have here the brush-up foundation for the many highly developed egos now comming into incarnation, plus the millions of adults also seized by fascination. Already in the third year of Hogwarts is included Unfogging the Future by Cassandra Vablatsky, but the main issue (as in Agni Yoga) is goal-fit work based on fearless action, which is only possible after due fusion of the three aspecs of man. The contributions to the new Yoga of Life will become clearer in the years to come, and when George Lucas has finished the Star Wars saga, the emphasis of love and the warning agains fear, hate and pride, in the work will be clear. The old bon-mot "per aspera ad astra" could certainly be the headline and as pointed out by the Christ, joy is a special kind of wisdom.
(7-8) Yoda's Yoga (7-8-04, Y. Knott)
"Hatha Yoga cannot be regarded as an independent form. The Growth of the spirit changes it into Raja Yoga. Besides, in the astral world the accomplishment through Hatha Yoga may even bring harm, by stressing especially the astral body. The fakirs may adapt themselves to the astral plan and imperceptibly weaken the ascent of thought. Even an immobile person, meditating, can attain further; because thought is the Raja of all that exists. Beauty is born through the lightening of thought. Truly the flamming Bhakta can kindle new worlds with a thought. And the step of a Jnani will be but a smile of a Raja-Bhakta. Therefore Hatha and Jnana are not self-sufficient. What sage of wisdom would not be the lord of love? (Agni Yoga, p. 26, in the Agni Yoga Teachings, 1929)
"All the preceding yogas, given from the highest Sources,
took as their basis a definite quality of life. And now, a the advent of
the age of Maitreya, there is needed a Yoga comprising the essence of the
entire life, all-embracing, evading nought, precisely like the unignitable
youths in the biblical legend who valiantly sacrificed themselves to the
fiery furnace and thereby acquired power.
You may suggest to Me a name of the Yoga of life. But
the most precise name will be Agni Yoga. It is precisely the element of
fire which gives to this Yoga of self-sacrifice its name. While in other
Yogas the dangers are diminished through excercise, in the Yoga of Fire
the perils are increased. Becauses fire, as an all-binding element, manifests
itself everywhere and thereby admits realization of the sublest energies.
Fire will not lead away from life; it will act as a trustworthy guide to
far-off worlds. (...) Let us see in what lie the similarities and
differences between Agni Yoga and the preceding Yogas. Karma Yoga has many
similarities with it when it acts with the element of Earth. But when Agni
Yoga possesses the ways to the realization of the far-off worlds, then
the distinction becomes apparant. Raja Yoga, Jnana Yoga, Bhakti Yoga are
all isolated from the surrounding reality; and the future. Of course an
Agni Yoga should also be a Jnani and a Bhakta, and the development of the
forces of his spirit makes him a Raja Yogi. How beautiful is the possibility
of responding to the tasks of the future evolution without ejecting the
past conqests of the spirit! One should not boast of innovation, becauses
only the combination of elements renew the possibilities. Each danger also
provides and advantage. The center of larynx effects the synthesis. Thus,
the sword is tempered in fire. Certainly each flame is a danger, but the
subtlety of the form of receptivity is affirmed by flame. Therefore, Agni
yoga is created upon the manifestation of Fire, the life-giver and the
creator of will. (...) Why do people think they can accord to the yoga
a portion of some idle hour, remaining through the rest of the time
in impure thought ? Verily, all actions must be infused with the purifying
fiery striving (...) This most unifying Yoga exacts in conformity with
a discipline externally imperceptible. If this irreplaceble disciplin is
not regarded as chains, but turns into joy of responsibility, we can consider
the first Gates opened. When cooperation with the far-off worlds is realized,
then the second Gates will be unbarred. And when the foundations of evolution
is understood, the bolts will fall from the third Gates. And, finally when
the supremacy of the densified astral body is realized, then will the locks
of the fourth Gates be unbolted. Parallel with this ascent the fires of
the centers of knowledge is kindled, and amidst the lightenings of the
subtlest energies, straight-knowledge unfolds. Thus, cherish the fire of
knowledge and guard the growing power. (...) An Agni Yogi must renounce
the conventionalities of all nations, although temporarily he belongs to
one of them. The Agni Yogi renounces homogenity in his work, although he
possesses a superior knowledge to one and the mastery of it. The Agni yogi
replaces blood relationship by spiritual relationship. The shield of an
Agni yogi lies in the consecration to the evolution of worlds and his austere
renunciation of prejudices. (...) Some of the young may ask "How
should one understand Agni Yoga". Say, "As the perception and application
in life of the all-embracing element of fire, which nourishes the seed

The Agni Yoga Teachings may appeal most directly to the
first ray worker and friend of Hierachy. However, a second ray approach
to this new form of yoga, to be worked out in the New Age, is displayed
in The Rays and Initiation by Alice A. Bailey, especially and most
specifically as the Fourteen Rules for Disciples and Group Initiation,
which also is said to be the core curiculum of the advanced esoteric schools,
to be founded, when the public is suitable informed of the great changes
in relation to the Aquarean civilisation and the externalisation of the
Hierachy with the reappearance as the Christ (in the East denoted Maitreya,
from the profecies of the puranas, the esoteric core of the vedas). By
the way, Urusvati is another name for Helena Petrovna Blavatsky (H.P.B.),
and the Mother of Agni was once the mother of both prince Gautama and Jesus
(the virgin Mary), wheras after this great contribution she entered the
deva evolution with rank of chohan. So even the Earth will belong to the
far-off worlds, when the crust is pierced by the new fiery rays reaching
us now from the Cosmos.

"You often utter the word cult-ur; it means the
cult of Light. I remind you of the great common responsibility before Light
if each thought can either obscure or purify space (...) Bones belong to
the Earth, nerves to the Subtle World, Light to the Spirit (...) He who
strives upward without Hierachy may be compared to an archer who shoots
arrows heavenward with closed eyes, expecting that one of the arrows will
reach a bird (...) You may be asked how the entrance upon the Path of Service
is defined. Certainly the first sign will be renunciation of the past and
full striving to the future. The second sign will be the realisation of
the Teacher within one's heart, not because it is necessary thus, but because
it is impossible otherwise. The third sign will be the rejection of fear,
for being armed by the Lord one is invulnerable. The fourth will be non-condemnation,
because he who strives into the future has not time to occupy himself with
the refuse of yesterday. The fifth will be the filling of the entire time
with the labor for the future. The sixth will be the joy of Service and
complete offering of oneself for the good of the world. The seventh will
be the spiritual striving to the far-off worlds as a predestined path.
According to these signs you will discern a spirit ready and manifested
for Service. He will understand where to raise the sword for the Lord,
and his word will be from within his heart."

Only once has Tony Blair given an interview on his christean beliefs, some ten years ago, and here he used Pilate as an example of the dilemma between idealism and political realities. He has been accused of adapting his policy to the public oppinion, allowing the rule of spinn-doctors. Nevertheless he displayed an oratoric power on the party congress this week that must have convinced even his stongest opponents of his wholehearted beliefs in taking a moral stand and sticking to it, even if it apparantly produces a multitude of blows. Spiritual compromise is not to be misinterpreted as opportunism. But how should we emulate such heroism in our daily life, one could ask. First of all , what resembles heroism to the public, is to the disciple simply his modus operandi. and moreover to the true disciple acting on egotism would be more painfull in many ways, not to mention the ashramic perspective. But how do the disciple know what to do, when attempting to act on necessity. Here we have to distinguish between head and heart. The heart always knows, but if there is no fusion between heart and mind, between soul and personality, then the brain-consciousness may easily be mistaken. If however we act on our best beliefts, we shall always be corrected by surcomstance and surroundings, or in some cases even directly from above. Such correction will not be needed, when the fusion with Hierachy is complete. This fusion can only be achieved by persistent conscious acts.
In the Harry Potter books many (apparantly) phantastic ideas are implemented in the school of magic, e.g. those pictured in the many portraits on the walls seem alive or even missing. This is not just another amusing feature, far from reality, but a hint to the method of linking up by visualization. Just as communication between two or more computers (or should I say between those persons using these devices) is possible only through certain gateways and by use of certain protocols, so is it also when we attempt to create a line of contact to any aspect of the not-self, whether this item is human, subhuman or superhuman (the web is the web of the great entity we call space). If e.g. you want to express your command or information to an animal, you may simply visualize your thoughts and direct it mentally towards the animal. Such soundless communication is often both ways, but we are not used to think that we understand an animal directly. Nevertheless the communication is registered in the heart, or rather in the chalice, the subtle heartcenter. It is like a magnet for any kind of energy, due to the fire of space, which is permeating the whole space.
In the books on the signs of Agni Yoga, especially Hierachy from 1931, we find many exercises of the classic yoga tradition. For instance it is mentioned, that the exercise of visualising the Teacher and placing the image in the third eye will make the linking with the Teacher very real. It is recommended to make the picture correct to the minutest detail and keep it around all the time, in order to fuse your own consciousness with that of the Teacher. If you keep this picture close to you all the time, it may become alive and you may even see it as if in activity. M. explains that just as you are linked up with the picture, then the picture is linked up with what is pictured. You may insist that nothing happens, but are you truly sincere in the act, for only then can you expect results. The link is developed through the hearts (both in the chest and the head), even if not registered in the consciousness - the heart has acces to buddhi, that is a blending of manas and atma, form and life on higher planes. The heartcenter is always linked up with any other hearts, and with the cosmic heart or the socalled Cosmic Magnet that attracts all energies and is the cause behind what we call evolution. Yes, magnetism is far more important than assumed by science, relegating the concept to the material world only (and even here denying to broaden the comcept - we may e.g. recall that behind aall atmospheric changes and subteranean earthquakes lie magnetic currents - and both types of phenomena may be changed by the spirit-creativeness of an agni yogi).
The evolution of the spirit is only possible through the fusion of head and heart. Only through the heartcenter is there access to the accumulation of experiences of earlier incarnations in spite of the degree of fusion with the soul. With the fusion of head and heart follows the treasure of spirit-creativness, that is based on the fundamental unity of everything in cosmos, and this capacity exceeds our wildest dreams in creativity and beauty. But such perfect achievements in spirit is only posible through the right striving, and the right devotion to the Teacher and his work. Conscious striving for the Common Good will inevitably conduct the worker to the gates of Hierachy. And there is no other worthy path.
A certain stage of development of a mans consciousness
is sometimes called the Lion of the Dessert. The stage include complete
fearlessness, but also immunity to insults and unworthy emotional reactions,
not excluding loving kindness. When this stage is reached the ridding of
fetters accelerate rapidly, and the effectivness and usefullness will of
course increase, as does the responsibility to the little ones. Much
assistance can be achieved through the fusion of hearts, but often can
the development of an eagle-eye replace the expenses of evokation. Such
an eye is developed in daily life. This development and the silent prayers
in the heart can be carried out anywhere and in spite of work. Go for it.
(7-10) The Doctrine of the Heart (26-11-04, Ruby di Agendi)
"Let us recall - someone reacted to cosmic manifestations;
someone heard far-off voices; .... someone became louminous; someone levitated;
someone walked upon water; someone walked through fire; someone swallowed
poison without harm; someone had no need of sleep; someone had no need
of food; someone could see through solid bodies; someone could write with
both hands; someone could attract animals; someone could understand a language
without knowing it; someone could read thoughts; someone could read with
closed eyes a closed book; someone did not feel pain; someone in the snow
generated the heat of the heart; someone did not feel fatigue; someone
could help by healing; someone could manifest knowledge of the future.
... But for an instance gather all these qualities in one body and
you will have the new human transmutation indicated in many Teachings ...
Therefore, let us remember of the great Fire and the fiery stronghold -
the heart. For it is no fairy tale, but a house of the Spirit! "

physical tensions. ... Pure thinking, constancy, benevolence, bring the
heart energy into action. Let the karmic merits increase the tension and
refinement of the heart, but each striving to Hierachy opens the heart

not contradict the oneness of the essence of Fire. The rhythm of tension
alone will change the color of visible flame from silver through reddish-gold
to an intense ruby-red. ...

The substance of fiery immunity was described by Zoroaster.
... Indeed, the bacilli of cancer exist. They can be detected and killed
primarily by the fire of the heart."

The proverb "To the pure everything is pure" has of course many interpretations, aluding naivity or lack of maturity. It is often restated as "To the pure of heart everything is pure". It has a very litterate meaning, that could be demonstrated by many yogis, and those stories of yogis swallowing poison that could easily kill an elephant are in essence true. It would of course be madness to make such experiments without proper training of the heart. But you may try to transfer an inconvenient state of body or mind to the heart, for purificatory purposes, and later handle genuine poisons the same way, if needed (but always remember, when poisened, on must not delay the action of the heart for one split second, in order to conquer the poisenous influence). When you speak to the heart, you may feel it as a separate organ, not a pain or a pressure, but simply separated from the rest of the body. And this could not be otherwise, if it should transmute a sensation or thought.
In Book Four of The Republic Plato has a wonderful houmoristic demonstration of various kinds of argumentation (valid and non-valid), starting with deductions of the mind, showing the psyche (or consciousness) is at least threefold (and related to lower individual feelings of the stomach, epithymia, the higher group-feelings related to the heart, thymos, and the reason related to the head, nous - all this partly symbolic), and ending up with the almost hidden alusion to the Pythagoreans, demonstrating the limitations of the head (though modern philosophy seem to appreciate the opposite viewpoint, that is on the surface of his argumentation). During the first passage, he exemplifies the distinction between heart and head, referring to what Homer let Odysseus say, while knocking at his chest. Such crude mechanical methods to awaken the heart were also applied in the monastic tradition of Christeanity, just as the biographers of Thomas More have notified his lifelong use of an uncomfortable hairshirt. But a small warning should also find its place. Psychic energy never used will cause a sediment on the nerves, at first in the extremities, leading to sclerosis. As usual, power go hand in hand with responsibility. Indeed great caution is recommended.
The esoteric tradition of both East and West however always emphasize the heart, as a symbol but also as a gateway to the highest, the spirit. When the fires of the heart (both the physical organ and its etheric counterpart, often denoted the Challice, yes even metaphoric for the soul) are kindled, spirit-creativeness is possible. To the spirit everything is possible. Words only hide and limmit comprehension, since the spirit is belonging to the formless levels. The heart itself is in contact with any other heartcenter, though the personality forces often smites the delicate paterns all the time registered in the heart. Even to the highly developed personality the sensations of the heart are only slowly and gradually released to the brain. Feelings are often more reliable than reason, if not coloured by selfhood. Nevertheless the symptoms of the constant distribution of energy of the heart may be registered, and in times of global crises, it is no shame to lay down for relaxation, and use valerian or milk with soda to protect the body. And only prana is true nourishment for the heart.
Where as the mind and will only with great effort and with long pauses can distribute energy and heal, the heart can do this constantly and invisibly, and only the spirit knowns on what purposes the fires are used. But since such actions are often part of the constant battle between the Hierachy and the material forces of darkness, the link through the heart to the planetarean heart, the Hierachy, should always be strong, and since the heart is situated in a physical person, immediate actions are sometimes needed on command, which has to be followed without delay.
But how do we kindle the fires of the heart. The Agni Yoga teachings says, that the quickest method is a life of constant striving, that is, striving for perfectment of achievement and goalfitness in the group-work for the greatest common good. When the disciple in joy and solemnity becomes totally identified with the One Great Work, and the sutratma and antahkarana become one channel for circulating energies, his heart will know where to collect and redistribute the fires, and the disciple will then reach that stage of consciousness which is actually beyond consciousness (formally an aspect of the soul), a stage technically termed identification. The spirit and the personality are one and no longer limmited to any form. The life of infinity is approaching.

Winston Churchill was involved in both World Wars, and had passed the age of seventy when he as prime minister was able to finish the second. He didn't sleep much during this war. In his abrevated history of the war, made at the age of eightytwo, he characterizes this war as another Thirty Years War. When Roosevelt in those days asked him for a proper name of this war, he promtly suggested "the Unnessary War". And his parrot still today curses the german nazis. During wars many young men are killed. But if the timeschedule is prolonged, the older and younger also fill up the ranks. And among civilians, death knows no sex or age.
The tsunami that caught the interest of the medias just after Christmas, was only a minor disaster, compared to the implications of a major earthquake close to Tokio. The economic results would be world wide, and force another system into manifestation. If the solidarity between all human beings is not assured by the common need on the planet, extra-planetary tools are also available. Let us recall the asteroid comming towards us, around 21-3-2019. It may be heading for China, if SARS is not sufficient for a long term change of bodies in the fourth rootrace. Some may ask what age is the most suited to survive such challengeces.
Zhao Ziyang, the deposed Chinese Communist Party chief
who died almost two weeks ago, will not be given a public funeral today
- in order to save his successors from hhaving to decide whether or not
to attend, it has been said.
Zhao had been under house arrest since 1989 for sympathising
with student demonstrators demanding political reforms. Beijing has muted
all public expressions of grief and prevented unofficial attempts to commemorate
the former General Secretary of the Communist Party who is still a popular
figure in China. While the Communist Party never forgave Zhao for having
opposed an armed assault on protesters in Tiananmen Square, it prefers
not to offend his many longstanding supporters, some of them in senior
party positions. Most of those students who survived the demonstration
in Tiananmen Square were imprisoned, and some still are. They were
martyrs in spite of position or age.
If the Thirty Years War was unnessary the peace-agreement
of Westphalen in 1648 at least manifested the point of view, that religion
should not be part of the foundation of political power. Christean people
agreed not to kill each other, but the agreement did not protect
judes, muslims and pure heretics.
It is true, that the dark forces attempt to use any posibility
for sidetracking but if you believe the emotional climate to be almost
comfortable at the moment it is only because there is the usual transfer
of force to places where it makes a difference. The ellection planned
for tomorow in Iraq has for weeks attracted those forces, and even if we
will end up with an islamic republic, the problem is related to personalities
rather than religion. And the phanatics are dangerous in spite of age.
A very concrete sidetracking in both East and West is related to the sexuality of the personality life. There is nothing wrong in expressing love to other persons sanctioning the act by their free will, but the sexuality that is promovated in most societies is nevertheless that kind of consumation, that can replace the constant hunger for food in rich societies, where such needs are fulfilled, and the need for comfort, that is so badly needed, when a society is insecure in so many ways. Hitherto such sexuality has most of the time been quite unphysical, and not a small part of the emotional life of the religious believer, in spite of the declared dogmas of the religion. When the seventh ray however takes over from the sixth ray, there may also show up some of the forms, that was common in anscient Greece and Rome, but was suppressed by Christianity and Islam. This may even be a problem to those, who was involved in the mystery tradition of Greece or earlier, and now are confronted with the final control of this, prior to the second and third initiation. However there is no type of life that cannot be lived divinely. Here the key-word is detachment and impersonality - not suppression - and this quite generally, in spite of place, sex and age.
In the West the "least bad" type of society (according to Churchill) is based on democracy. But does this guarantee that substance of debate and political principle is neglected in preference of rhetoric and performance on television. Among the anscient greeks it was wellknown that most people don't obey reason, since they simple don't understand. And what is the remedy then, if not experience of that which should not be prefered. President Bush has just started another four-year period, this time with republican majority in both "chambers", hence with no-one else to blame, when the results will have to be estimated prior to next ellection. In Denmark we will see the same situation in less than two weeks. Nationalism and bigotry are not what we need in the New Age, but as long as the public opinion is based on emotions rather than reason, how else should the majority of the people become aware of their responsibility. Reason is not a product of physical age.
But why then is there such overestimation of the factor
of age. Perhaps we could apply the lessons of the past to future conduct,
but people are as movable as the cross they are tied up to. In the life
of personality, time is always a factor to be taken into account. More
deepseated there may be some distant reflections of the paradoxes related
to the Anscient of Days, also called the Eternal Yuth. Here we have perhaps
the kernel of the problem: yuthfulness is not related to physical age,
but to the ability of revitalizing the vehicles of the personality, and
from a certain stage, the ability to contact the fiery levels. What matters
is the age of soul. Only evolution can remove the lack of soul experience,
but just prior to a new divine period, this process is shaking whatever
can be elevated, because the speed of change is lower in a divine period,
due to the lack of obstacles. If we consider the world situation, and especially
in the Middle East, it is obvious, that the patterns are converging towards
the higher values - even if those blinded by the dark forces cannot be
filled with joy to the new trends in politics, trends which - to use the
words of Oscar Wilde - only the yuth are experienced enough to estimate.
