What We Are and What We Will Be.... Essays and Observations is a publication of The Power of A Good Idea,owned and operated by Rick Rorapaugh. I have, for many years, wanted to publish my own and other's writings. Over time my original idea of a quarterly journal, printed and mailed to a few dozen of America's ruling class (politicians, media barons, Old and New Economy leaders), grew into a company dedicated to ideas: The Power of A Good Idea, with E & O as its voice. We reach the world through the Internet and hope to become the best written and, best edited web publication extent, a thoughtful and measured work featuring our writings and those of our contributors. This is issue Number One. We hope you like it. We will publish infrequently because we are by nature deliberate and perfectionistic: our goal is clear and concise writing and E & O is our journalism school and workshop. We want to avoid problems we see in many web publications: typograpical errors, sloppy and confusing graphics, microscopic font sizes. By making Essays and Observations physically easy to read, we hope to entice you to do so. You may agree with us and our contributors or you may not. We hope that in either case you will feel that it was worthwhile reading. We solicite your contributions to Essays and Observations. All submissions will be acknowledged and considered for publication. All are, of course, subject to editing. We will not print profanity except as part of a direct quote. All articles reflect the opinions of their authors and do not necessarily express our opinion. Authors agree to allow us to use their work as we see fit whilst they retain ownership rights.
