I recall wanting a gun in the early 90's, and bad too. I wanted it for protection in the home. I also wanted to carry it around with me, but I new it was against the law and needed a gun permit. So after going to several local gun stores I purchased one. It was a Rossi revolver and I was so happy to have it after all the formalities such as a background check, i.d., money down on the gun, and a 7 to 10 day waiting period. I took it home and just looked at it, but when I went to the range less than 2 weeks later I ran into someone whom I believed and would not steer me wrong that this gun was cheaper than what I had paid for it. So I was hooked, bamboozled, but did not know it at the time and I was supposed to practice shooting at this range but I just left the gun with this man whom I'd just met and gave him my phone number.

This guy never called me until I called the gun shop and left a message, only then did he call and gave me his phone number. Still weeks went on and I kept calling and calling and his wife would always answer saying "He is working on it". So I called the gun shop and they said he no longer works there, he's been fired. Well that made me mad because this guy does not live in the city and I did not know where he lives at all. Well I began to get upset, but on the phone I kept my cool so I would not give him an excuse for not giving me either my gun back or this "better gun" he told me about. So finally he said it's at the shop and I'm to sign the transfer papers over to him along with my brand new gun after just knowing him one hour, but my first mistake was GIVING THE GUN TO HIM.

Finally after a month or more and me calling down to the gun shop to check and see whether or not it was there, they said yes to me (the gun was waiting for me at the shop). I immediately went down there not knowing what to expect, Although over the phone he had described the gun to me. It was a colt 380 semi-automatic, that only shot 5 rounds (1 in the chamber). He had also given me a warn out holster, but after that long wait I was just happy to have the gun. Truthfully, he could have taken my gun and ran. Well I'd had the gun less than a year but I was into it, going to the range, cleaning it, and just handling it being that it was so small. But that almost proved deadly for me. As I write this it brings chills to me. If you have ever been on a rollercoaster and you feel that "lightning" feeling in your legs and or your heart you know what I'm talking about.
