Re: Words of Jesus
even though I don't agree with you on many things I have been a fairly avid reader of your site for about one year now. You have studied "as hard as you can go" for about 40 years. I have studied pretty hard for about one year. That alone puts me at a disadvantage. However, because I too become frustrated with many writers who give viewpoints without supporting them with scripture, I will try to avoid making that same mistake.

In a nutshell, I think Christianity is pretty far off track from what was intended by our father when he sent his son to this earth.

Since I could begin to cover the many areas of error in many directions I will for the purposes of brevity choose one. Probably, the most important one.

John 3:16 For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whosoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life.

This is a quote, according to the Gospel of John, of JESUS OWN WORDS. The problem is I can't find a single place in Matthew, Mark or Luke where Jesus ever told anyone these all important words to gain eternal life. The typical Christian today tells the "lost" that gospel of Jesus is that they must ask Jesus into their heart as Lord and Savior. If they will just believe in their heart in the atoning work of his death on the cross that their sins will be forever forgiven and that regardless of any good or bad they do here on earth they will ultimately gain eternal life and be justified because of their belief in this atoning work. Period.

I say that if you use JESUS WORDS ONLY from ONLY the gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke you will get a different picture of how to gain eternal life. These are the "eternal life" references from JESUS OWN WORDS that I find in the synoptic gospels.

Matthew Beatitudes quick reference
4:3 HUMBLE IN SPIRIT, theirs is the kingdom of heaven
4:5 the MEEK shall inherit the earth
4:6 those who HUNGER AND THIRST FOR RIGHTEOUSNESS shall be satisfied
4:7 the MERCIFUL shall receive mercy
4:8 the PURE IN HEART shall see God
4:9 the PEACEMAKERS they shall be called sons of God.
4:10 those PERSECUTED FOR THE SAKE OF RIGHTEOUSNESS theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Other Matthew Quotations
4:16 "Let your light shine before men in such a way that they may see your GOOD WORKS, and GLORIFY YOUR FATHER who is in heaven.
17 "Do not think that I (Jesus) came to abolish the Law or the Prophets; I DID NOT COME TO ABOLISH BUT TO FULFILL.
18 "For truly I (Jesus) say to you, until heaven and earth pass away, not the smallest letter or stroke shall pass from the Law until ALL IS ACCOMPLISHED.
19 "WHOEVER THEN ANNULS ONE OF THE LEAST OF THESE COMMANDMENTS, AND TEACHES OTHERS TO DO THE SAME, SHALL BE CALLED LEAST IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN; BUT WHOEVER KEEPS AND TEACHES THEM SHALL BE GREAT IN THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.

7:19 "EVERY TREE THAT DOES NOT BEAR GOOD FRUIT IS CUT DOWN AND THROWN INTO THE FIRE.

7:21 "Not everyone who says to Me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ will enter the kingdom of heaven, but HE WHO DOES THE WILL OF MY FATHER IN HEAVEN.
22 "Many will say to Me on that day, ‘Lord, Lord, did we not prophesy in Your name, and in Your name cast out demons, and in Your name perform many miracles?’
23 "And then I will declare to them, ‘I never knew you; DEPART FROM ME, YOU WHO PRACTICE LAWLESSNESS.’ (From Strongs 459 1-Destitute of the Mosaic Law)

10:22 "You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is THE ONE WHO HAS ENDURED TO THE END WILL BE SAVED.

10:38 "And he who does not take his cross and FOLLOW AFTER ME is not worthy of Me. 39 "He who has found his life will lose it, and he who has LOST HIS LIFE FOR MY SAKE will find it.

13:41 "The Son of Man will send forth His angels, and they will gather out of HIS KINGDOM ALL STUMBLING BLOCKS AND THOSE WHO COMMIT LAWLESSNESS (Again from Strongs 459) 42 and will throw them into the furnace of fire; in that place there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

16:24 Then Jesus said to His disciples, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and FOLLOW ME.
25 "For whoever desires to save his life will lose it, but WHOEVER LOSES HIS LIFE FOR MY SAKE WILL FIND IT.
26 "For what profit is it to a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? Or what will a man give in exchange for his soul?
27 "For the Son of Man will come IN THE GLORY OF HIS FATHER with His angels, and then He will reward EACH (man) according to HIS WORKS.

18:2 Then Jesus called a little child to Him, set him in the midst of them, 3 and said, "Assuredly, I say to you, UNLESS YOU ARE TURNED AND BECOME AS LITTLE CHILDREN YOU WILL BY NO MEANS ENTER THE KINGDOM OF HEAVEN.

19:16 And someone came to Him and said, "Teacher, (Jesus) what good thing SHALL I DO THAT I MAY OBTAIN ETERNAL LIFE?"
17 And He said to him, "Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is only One who is good; but IF YOU WISH TO ENTER INTO LIFE, KEEP THE COMMANDMENTS."
18 Then he *said to Him, "Which ones?" And Jesus said, "YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT MURDER; YOU SHALL NOT COMMIT ADULTERY; YOU SHALL NOT STEAL; YOU SHALL NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS;
19 HONOR YOUR FATHER AND MOTHER; and YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."
20 The young man *said to Him, "All these things I have kept; what am I still lacking?"
21 Jesus said to him, "If you WISH TO BE COMPLETE (Strongs 5046 perfect) go and sell your possessions and give to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; and COME, FOLLOW ME."
22 But when the young man heard this statement, he went away grieving; for he was one who owned much property.
23 And Jesus said to His disciples, "Truly I say to you, it is hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven.

25 When the disciples heard this, they were very astonished and said, "Then who can be saved?"
26 And looking at them Jesus said to them, "With people this is impossible, but with God all things are possible."
27 Then Peter said to Him, "Behold, WE HAVE LEFT EVERYTHING AND FOLLOWED YOU; what then will there be for us?"
28 And Jesus said to them, "Truly I say to you, that YOU WHO HAVE FOLLOWED ME, in the regeneration when the Son of Man will sit on His glorious throne, you also shall sit upon TWELVE THRONES (Not 13 to include Paul) judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
29 "And EVERYONE WHO HAS LEFT houses or brothers or sisters or father or mother or children or farms for My name’s sake, will receive many times as much, and WILL INHERIT ETERNAL LIFE.

24:12 "Because LAWLESSNESS (From Strongs 459) is increased, most people’s love will grow cold. 13 "But the ONE WHO ENDURES TO THE END, HE WILL BE SAVED.

25:41 "Then He will also say to those on His left, ‘Depart from Me, accursed ones, into the eternal fire which has been prepared for the devil and his angels;
42 for I was HUNGRY, and YOU GAVE ME NOTHING to eat; I was THIRSTY, and YOU GAVE ME NOTHING to drink;
43 I was a STRANGER, and YOU DID NOT INVITE ME IN; NAKED, and YOU DID NOT CLOTHE ME; SICK, and in PRISON, and YOU DID NOT VISIT ME.’
44 "Then they themselves also will answer, ‘Lord, when did we see You hungry, or thirsty, or a stranger, or naked, or sick, or in prison, and did not take care of You?’
45 "Then He will answer them, ‘Truly I say to you, to the extent that you did not do it to one of the least of these, you did not do it to Me.’
46 "THESE WILL GO AWAY INTO ETERNAL PUNISHMENT BUT THE RIGHTEOUS INTO ETERNAL LIFE."

NON-REDUNDANT QUOTATIONS FROM MARK
12:28 One of the scribes came and heard them arguing, and recognizing that He had answered them well, asked Him, "WHAT COMMANDMENT IS THE FOREMOST OF ALL?"
29 Jesus answered, "The foremost is, ‘HEAR, O ISRAEL! THE LORD OUR GOD IS ONE LORD;
30 AND YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH.’
31 "The second is this, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF.’ THERE IS NO OTHER COMMANDMENT GREATER THAN THESE."
32 The scribe said to Him, "Right, Teacher; You have truly stated that he is one, and there is no one else besides him;
33 and to love him with all the heart and will all the understanding and with all the strength, and to love one's neighbor as himself, is much more than all burnt offerings and sacrifices."
34 When JESUS SAW THAT HE ANSWERED INTELLIGENTLY, He said to him, "YOU ARE NOT FAR FROM THE KINGDOM OF GOD."

NON-REDUNDANT QUOTATIONS FROM LUKE
25 And a lawyer stood up and put Him to the test, saying, "Teacher, (Jesus) WHAT SHALL I DO TO INHERIT ETERNAL LIFE?"
26 And He (Jesus) said to him, "WHAT IS WRITTEN IN THE LAW? HOW DOES IT READ TO YOU?"
27 And he answered, "YOU SHALL LOVE THE LORD YOUR GOD WITH ALL YOUR HEART, AND WITH ALL YOUR SOUL, AND WITH ALL YOUR STRENGTH, AND WITH ALL YOUR MIND; AND YOUR NEIGHBOR AS YOURSELF."
28 And He (Jesus) said to him, "YOU HAVE ANSWERED CORRECTLY; DO THIS AND YOU WILL LIVE."
29 But wishing to justify himself, he said to Jesus, "And who is my neighbor?"
30 Jesus replied and said, "A man was going down from Jerusalem to Jericho, and fell among robbers, and they stripped him and beat him, and went away leaving him half dead.
31 "And by chance a priest was going down on that road, and when he saw him, he passed by on the other side.
32 "Likewise a Levite also, when he came to the place and saw him, passed by on the other side.
33 "But a Samaritan, who was on a journey, came upon him; and when he saw him, HE FELT COMPASSION,
34 and came to him and BANDAGED UP HIS WOUNDS, pouring oil and wine on them; and HE PUT HIM ON HIS OWN BEAST, and brought him to an inn and TOOK CARE OF HIM.
35 "On the next day HE TOOK OUT TWO DENARII AND GAVE THEM the innkeeper and said, ‘Take care of him; and whatever more you spend, when I return I will repay you.’
36 "Which of these three do you think PROVED to be a neighbor to the man who fell into the robbers’ hands?"
37 And he said, "The one who showed mercy toward him." Then Jesus said to him, "GO AND DO THE SAME."

16:22 "Now the poor man died and was carried away by the angels to Abraham’s bosom; and the rich man also died and was buried.
23 "In Hades he lifted up his eyes, being in torment, and *saw Abraham far away and Lazarus in his bosom....

27 "And he said, ‘Then I beg you, father, that you send him to my father’s house—
28 for I have five brothers—in order that he may warn them, so that they will not also come to this place of torment.’
29 "But Abraham *said, ‘THEY HAVE MOSES AND THE PROPHETS, LET THEM HEAR THEM.’
30 "But he said, ‘No, father Abraham, but if someone goes to them from the dead, they will repent!’
31 "But he said to him, ‘IF THEY DO NOT LISTEN TO MOSES AND THE PROPHETS, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.’"

19:8 Zaccheus stopped and said to the Lord, "Behold, Lord, half of my possessions I WILL GIVE TO THE POOR, and if I have defrauded anyone of anything, I WILL GIVE BACK FOUR TIMES AS MUCH."
9 And Jesus said to him, "TODAY SALVATION HAS COME TO THIS HOUSE, BECAUSE HE TOO, IS A SON OF ABRAHAM."

The following is what I believe. I haven't heard any voices nor seen any lights but I do experience God Almighty working in my life in a very real and noticeable way almost daily. This I believe is a message he would like me to tell others.

1. The Law is eternal and comprises the commandments of our Father in heaven. They have not been done away with or replaced. They are eternal and MUST be obeyed according to the word of God. Jesus only added or further explained the Law, he never said don't obey the commandments of Moses or only obey a few of them.

2. Jesus is the Messiah sent to this earth to atone for sins of those who do the will of our Father in heaven. You can know what his will is by reading the bible and seeking him through prayer. This atonement is able to pay for sins both before and after his death. But this atonement is only applied to a particular person's sins if that person FOLLOWS AND DOES THE TEACHINGS OF JESUS.

3. The teachings of Jesus support and endorse ALL of the Law and the Prophets and ADD TO IT his correct interpretations of it. There are many specific cases of where he defines the Law further, but by no means does he ever say you must not obey the commandments of the Law. The bible teaches that when the Messiah comes he will teach us how to properly interpret the Law. (Torah) In the Messianic age the Law shall go forth from Zion.

4. If you believe that Jesus was the son of God and that he died a substitutionary death in your place for the atonement of your sins, you would be correct. However, if you do not actually follow his teachings you WILL NOT GAIN ETERNAL LIFE. It is only for those who obey the will of the Father. Anything else is in rebellion against him. It is rebellion that is the problem with gaining eternal life not unbelief.

5. What happened at the cross is the "ticket" ultimately for all to gain eternal life but just believing that there is a ticket will not get you a ticket.

6. Finally, it would be possible to gain eternal life and never actually know that Jesus died an atoning death for the sins of all who are willing to do the will of the Father. You simply obey the commandments given to us by the Father and now that Messiah has come, you must obey them according to his teachings.

You do not obey them according to the religion of Judaism. You do not obey them according to the religion of Christianity. This should be no surprise to anyone because long before the religions of Judaism or Christianity existed we know that Abraham, Isaac and Jacob gained eternal life. They even gained this before the Law was given to Moses or before Jesus came and further explained the Law. How did they do it? They did it by doing the will of their Father in heaven. They sought his will and tried to do it as PROOF OF THEIR FAITH in him. Later, the Father set-up eternal guidelines for mankind in the Law that can not be done away with. Later, he sent his son to teach us more about his Law and to provide a sacrifice that was worthy of atonement for all the sins of those who obey the Father.

I apologize for the amount of space I have taken here. I actually tried to be as brief as possible. If you disagree with any of my points I would ask you to respond using only the WORDS OF JESUS spoken in the complete Gospels of Matthew, Mark or Luke. You may have gathered that I have some doubts about the Gospel of John which I will be glad to go into greater detail with you later if you like. I have much more serious doubts about the "apostle" Paul and currently do not listen to much of anything he has to say or HIS disciples.

But surely, in the all-important issue of eternal life, we would be able to make our case from the WORDS OF JESUS ALONE using 3 of the 4 complete gospels. Surely, our Father would not have packed the most important elements of salvation in just 1 of the 4 gospels and through only 1 of the 13? apostles.

I do not have the entire truth. But I do seek it earnestly. Let's discuss this without harmful emotions and go after what is true.

The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom.

My reply

> > I say that if you use JESUS WORDS ONLY from ONLY the gospels of Matthew, Mark and Luke you will get a different picture of how to gain eternal life.

If you do that, you will get a lot of how Israel was trying to be saved under the Law given at Sinai instead of how we are are to be saved in the Dispensation of Grace. Since the Crucifixion, there has been a change. Now, it is as Jesus introduced in Mt. 22:42: "What think ye of Christ? whose son is he?" The correct answer is the Son of God.

You see, there are different Dispensations. In each, God gave man certain instructions. He either passed that test or failed to obey. I will list the 7 Dispensations and the number of years I think each is to last.

(1) Innocence, 40 yrs, creation of Adam to expulsion from the Garden of Eden
(2) Conscience, 1616 yrs, Expulsion to Flood
(3) Human Government, 427 yrs, Flood to Abraham
(4) Promise, 430 yrs, Abraham to Exodus
(5) Law, 1559 yrs, Exodus to outpouring of the Holy Spirit on Pentecost, 30 AD
(6) Grace, 1977 yrs, Pentecost 30 AD, to the end of this Age
(7) Kingdom, 1000 yrs, the Millennial Day of the Lord

Our Dispensation did not actually start until the Holy Spirit was poured out on the disciples at Pentecost. The 3.5 years of Jesus' ministry were transition years. He was preparing the apostles for what they were to do after being empowered by the Holy Spirit of Christ. At that point, they were finally ready to preach Christ crucified, resurrected and ascended, faith in Him our only means of Salvation.

The descent of the Holy Spirit to indwell all believers is recorded in Acts. The 4 gospels are for our edification, but not all directly written to the Church. They are transitional and do include what the Church is built on. John wrote to prove that Jesus Christ was God. From Acts on, we find our instructions on how to pass our test in the Dispensation of Grace. You can't throw the rest of the New Testament out.

You should avail yourself of all that any of the apostles said. They were taught by the Lord. You should avail yourself of all that Paul said. He too was taught by the Lord. He was even taken up to the third heaven (II Cor. 12:2-7). He knew even more than he taught, but his teachings were true. They are for us to know how to be saved and how to walk the Christian walk in this Dispensation of Grace.

In all Dispensations, man is to walk by faith, and is actually saved by his faith in either a coming Redeemer (Old Testament times) or in his faith in Yeshua/Jesus as the Redeemer (New Testament times). This salvation by grace operated in all Dispensations, but man did not always realize that fact. He was given certain instructions, and was tested to see if he would obey God even though he couldn't see God. II Cor. 5:7 says, "For we walk by faith, not by sight." "And you (spoken to a believer), being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses; Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross" (Col. 2:14). We can gain rewards by our works, but the only thing that can accomplish our Salvation is faith in Christ.

As a whole, man has failed in every Dispensation, but certain individuals passed their test. Heb. 11:4 says, "By faith Abel offered unto God a more excellent sacrifice than Cain, by which he obtained witness that he was righteous." "By faith Enoch was translated that he should not see death; and was not found, because God had translated him: for before his translation he had this testimony, that he pleased God" (Heb. 11:5). "By faith Noah, being warned of God of things not seen as yet, moved with fear, prepared an ark to the saving of his house; by the which he condemned the world, and became heir of the righteousness which is by faith" (Heb. 11:7). Rom. 4:9 says, "faith was reckoned to Abraham for righteousness." Rom. 5:1,2 says, "Therefore being JUSTIFIED BY FAITH, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ. By whom also we have access by faith into this GRACE WHEREIN WE STAND."

Rom. 9:31,32 says, "But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness.Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone." We don't want to stumble on that stumblingstone, "for by faith ye stand" (II Cor. 1:24). Gal. 3:11 says, "NO MAN IS JUSTIFIED BY THE LAW IN THE SIGHT OF GOD, it is evident: for, THE JUST SHALL LIVE BY FAITH."

Why was the Law given? Gal. 3:24-26 says, "the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith. But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster. For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus." Like Paul, I want to "be found in him, not having mine own righteousness (which is insufficient), which is of the law, but that which is through the faith of Christ, the righteousness which is of God by faith" (Phil. 3:9). Only His righteousness, imputed to believers, is sufficient for Salvation.

Rom. 1:17 says, "For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith." Rom. 3:22 says, "Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference." Rom. 3:27,28 says, "Where is boasting then? It is excluded. By what law? of works? Nay: but by the law of faith. Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law." Rom. 3:30 says, "Seeing it is one God, which shall justify the circumcision by faith, and uncircumcision through faith."

Rom. 4:4,5 says, "Now to him that worketh is the reward not reckoned of GRACE, but of debt. But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness."

II Tim. 3:16 says, "ALL scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness. That the man of God may be perfect, throughly furnished unto all good works." I Cor. 10:11 says, "Now ALL these things happened unto them for ensamples: and they are written for our admonition, upon whom the ENDS of the world (lit., AGES) are come."

There are 3 ages, each about 2000 years long: Age of the Gentiles, the Lord dealt mainly with all mankind Age of the Jews, the Lord dealt mainly with Jews Age of the Church, the Lord is dealing mainly with the Church

The Age of the Jews has a 7-yr extension, the 70th week of Daniel (Dan. 9:27). Since I Cor. 10:11 literally says ENDS OF THE AGES, I think all three ages are to have this extension, all running concurrently during the Tribulation. These 7 years are a trial that is to come upon "ALL THE WORLD" to try those left on Earth during the Tribulation (Rev. 3:10).

> > The Law is eternal and comprises the commandments of our Father in heaven. They have not been done away with or replaced.

But they have already been fulfilled in Christ. The 10 commandments are in effect as far as to show us what sin is. From there, we need Christ to get rid of that sin. No man was ever saved by obeying the commandments. Rom. 3:10 says, "As it is written, There is none righteous, NO, NOT ONE." Psa. 14,2,3 says, "The LORD looked down from heaven upon the children of men, to see if there were any that did understand, and seek God. They are all gone aside, they are all together become filthy: there is none that doeth good, NO, NOT ONE. That's why we had to have a Saviour.

> > this atonement is only applied to a particular person's sins if that person FOLLOWS AND DOES THE TEACHINGS OF JESUS

If we try to work for Salvation, we will fail. Rom. 11:5-7 says, "Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant ACCORDING TO THE ELECTION OF GRACE. And if by GRACE, then is it NO MORE OF WORKS: otherwise GRACE is no more GRACE. But if it be of works, then it is no more GRACE: otherwise work is no more work. What then? Israel hath not obtained that which he seeketh for; but the election hath obtained it, and the rest were blinded." Eph. 2:8 says, "BY GRACE ARE YE SAVED THROUGH FAITH; and that not of yourselves: IT IS THE GIFT OF GOD."

> > If you believe that Jesus was the son of God and that he died a substitutionary death in your place for the atonement of your sins, you would be correct. However, if you do not actually follow his teachings you WILL NOT GAIN ETERNAL LIFE.

It is not eternal life that is at stake when we do or don't do good works after accepting God's free gift of Salvation, it is rewardsI Cor. 3:15 says, "If any man's work shall be burned, he shall suffer loss: but HE HIMSELF SHALL BE SAVED; yet so as by fire."

> > it would be possible to gain eternal life and never actually know that Jesus died an atoning death for the sins of all who are willing to do the will of the Father. You simply obey the commandments given to us by the Father

That is true, but there is a hitch. No man was ever able to be saved by doing it, "NO, NOT ONE" (Psa. 14,2,3; Rom. 3:10). This way, we are all sunk. Christ's way, we can be saved.

> > surely, in the all-important issue of eternal life, we would be able to make our case from the WORDS OF JESUS ALONE using 3 of the 4 complete gospels.

In Mt. 22:42, Jesus said, "What think ye of Christ? whose son is he?" The right answer will gain us Salvation, and it isn't that he is the son of David. The Pharisees said that and failed to come to saving faith.

In this Dispensation of Grace, we are saved by faith, as all that have gone before us actually were. Rom. 10:9-11 says, "if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the scripture saith, Whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed." Agape

Re: Heshvan 17?
Did Noah enter the ark on Heshvan 17? It is very interesting that the Palestinians have reset their deadline to November 15 for a Palestinian State. As it was in the days of Noah, so shall it be in the coming of our Lord. The Palestinians want Jerusalem as their capital. Truly the rapture is close at hand. God Bless! My Hebrew friend keeps correcting my spelling.(Heshvan)

My reply

I think the "second month, the seventeenth day of the month" (Gen. 7:11) would actually be Cheshvan/Heshvan 17, because the Sacred Calendar was not given until the Exodus.

However, it is interesting that Iyar 17 on the Sacred Calendar is the 40th day, counted by Jewish inclusive reckoning, from Nisan 8, the anniversary of the day Christ came to Bethany before the Crucifixion. Nisan 9 was "Palm Sunday."

Nisan 8 is also the 1st day of the 120 days from Nisan 8 to Av 10, when the temple and Jerusalem were burned in 70 AD. There were 40 years plus these extra 120 days from the day that Jesus came to Bethany in 30 AD to the destruction of the temple in 70 AD.

Do you suppose that the date was given as the "second month, the seventeenth day of the month" so it could apply also to the Sacred Calendar? Iyar 17, 5761 is Mon., May 22, 2001.

That's an interesting date, we had a new star, NOVA VELORUM in the sails of the ship ARGO (THE COMPANY OF TRAVELERS), on May 22, 1999, which was Sivan 7, Pentecost that year. The Rapture is as the days of Noah. Seems like Iyar 17 is the right time of year--time of the firstripe grapes (Song of Sol. 2:10-14)--"afore the harvest" (Isa. 18:5). Sounds like a possibility. Food for thought. Agape

Re: binary asteroid
go to Astronomy Now/Breaking News, posted October 30th, and scroll down. There is a picture of a double asteroid, each the size of a "small city," and the first-ever actually sighted. The pair are located in the asteroid belt.

I know that in your projected end-time chronology, you list a binary asteroid impacting the earth. Thought it interesting that this has been found at this time.

Keep up your good work. Hope that all is well. I pray for you and family. Perhaps very soon we shall meet in glory. Praise God for His goodness, His righteousness, and His great mercy, in the Lord of Lords and King of Kings, Jesus Christ. Much love

My reply

Thanks. I can't get it to load now. They must be too busy. However, I saw this article last night. If I remember right, each piece was about 15 mi. in diameter.

Binary asteroids are common. Toutatis is a binary. Since we know that the Earth itself will not be broken into pieces, as Satan's planet Rahab was, no asteroid larger than about 0.7 mi. in diameter will hit Earth.

Thanks for your prayers in our behalf. Agape

I was wondering why The Lord would even bother to give us a date on when he closed the ark before the flood.I can't help but believe it was written for us,on whom the end of the ages has come, and a possible clue to when the rapture would take place.

My reply

It would suit me just fine, but I want everything to be just perfect, exactly the way the Lord planned it. We'll know soon on this one.

As to why the Lord would bother to give us this date, the Bible is constructed in such a way that much of prophecy is not understood by the unbelievers. Only the wise are to understand (Dan. 12:10). It is easier to tell that it came true after the fact too. All that is by design. Isa. 28:13 says, "the word of the LORD was unto them precept upon precept, precept upon precept; line upon line, line upon line; here a little, and there a little; that they might go, and fall backward, and be broken, and snared, and taken."
