The workplace is a microcosm of society at large.

The President or CEO, is like the Mayor of a city or the Governor of a state.
The CFO, the chief financial officer, is like the Treasurer of a city or state.
The Board of Directors is like the City Council or the State Legislature.
The Managers are like the hired Bureaucrats in governmental agencies.
The Workers are like the Citizens in a society.

Section 3 of the EEOC guidlines describes what is called hostile environment harrassment
Here are the behaviors listed in order of frequency in the workplace.
  • Sexual teasing, jokes, remarks, or questions
  • Pressure for dates
  • Letters, telephone calls, e-mails or materials of a sexual nature
  • Sexual looks or gestures
  • Deliberate touching, leaning over, cornering, or pinching
  • Pressure for sexual favors
  • Actual or attempted rape or sexual assault
