On 1 January, 1921, Dorothy Lillian Kennedy married James Clair Dugan. He was the 7th of 9 children born to Samuel H. Dugan and Emma J. Noel. James had served as a mechanic during the First World War (CFR 12 Aero Squadron). After the war, he became an auto mechanic. In 1929 he bought his own car repair establishment in Commack, NY. He was also an aide for the United States Veteran's Administration Hospital in Northport, where he and Dorothy bought a house on Ocean Avenue.
James Dugan died in Saugus Californina while visiting his daughter. His body was flown back to Northport where he was buried in St. Philip Neri RC Cemetery in East Northport.
Dorothy Kennedy Dugan may have considered her greatest achievement in life (besides the raising of her family) the conversion of her husband to the Catholic faith. It was this faith which saw her through the death of her first-born child before he reached maturity. Born with Down's Syndrome, he died from tuberculosis and is buried at St. Philip Neri RC Cemetery.
Dorothy Dugan died in a New York nursing home at the age of 95. In her final months she was surrounded by the love of her brother's and sister's families. She is buried beside her husband, her mother, Mary Landrigan Kennedy, sister, Aldegondes Payne and Alde's daughter, Nancy Payne at St. Philip Neri RC Cemetery in East Northport, NY.

The 1900 Federal Census for Pennsylvania gives Samuel Dugan's brithplace as Virginia and his date of birth as May, 1862--during the Civil War. He seems to have been the son of Jesse Dugan and Nancy W. Dugan.
Samuel Dugan married Emma J. Noel (b. April 1857 in PA). Their known children were:
Samuel Dugan was living in or on the vicinity of Gettysburg, PA into the 1930s. The 1920 Federal Census for PA lists Emma J. Dugan as living with her son-in-law, W. Roy Huntington.

Jesse Dugan may have been the father of Samuel H. Dugan and the grand-father of James Clair Dugan. The 1880 Census (PA) lists Jesse Dugan (b. abt. 1835) and his wife, Nancy W. Dugan (b. abt. 1841--d. bef. 1910) and their children:
On the 1900 Federal Census for Pennsylvania, Nancy Dugan was still living and reported having given birth to 11 children, but only six were still living.
John Kennedy Dugan (27 Aug 1925) was born in Bryn Mawr, Pa, where the Dugans first lived after their marriage. The family later moved to Northport, NY. On 29 September, 1952, John--or "Buddy" as he was known to his family--married Patricia Tjaden (b. 12 Mar 1929, the daughter of George A. Tjaden and Mary M. Ritchie). Pat had a son named John David Tjaden(b. 29 Aug 1949), whom Buddy legally adopted. John Kennedy Dugan is buried at Northport Rural Cemetery.

Constance Dugan married Paul Adrain Cadicamo, Jr., on 5 October, 1952. He was the son of Paul Adrian Cadicamo and Constance Cannizzaro. A chemist by trade, Paul died suddenly on 18 May, 1983.

Lance Dugan's first wife was Carol McCullogh. They had a daughter, Lisa Nicole Dugan (b. 12 O 1968). After his divorce, he married Joya Campeau on 4 July, 1976, in California.
