Mary A. Kennedy (20 My 1904--18 My 1976), married Charles Kroll on 8 Aug 1933 in Brooklyn, NY. She was his second wife, his first having been named Anna (no further information). Charlie, whose birth name was Karol, was born in Prussia on 24 Mr 1900, the 4th child of August Kroll and Natalia von Muller.
When he filled out his WWI Draft Registratin card, Charles was employed at the time by the Long Island Railroad as a clerk. For many years, Charles and Mary lived in Huntington Station, NY. Charles Kroll died on 7 Mar 1985 and Mary on 18 May 1976.
Their children are:
August Kroll and Natalia von Muller
August E. Kroll (b. 25 Aug 1864) and his wife, Natalia von Muller (1868--30 Nov 1940) emigrated to the United States from the Prussia/Russia/Poland area of eastern Europe. The 1910 census indicates they had been 22 years married at that time, placing their marriage at about 1888.
August emigrated in 1901, arriving at the Port of New York on the S. S. Milano on 27 July. The ship's manifest lists his last residence as Plotzk. August named Jersey City as his final destination and indicates that he has a brother, Leopold, already living in America.
Natalia (age 32) arrived in the United States 11 May, 1902, on the S. S. Noordam. At the time of their emigration, August the younger was 9, Eduard 8, Stanislas (later John) 5 and Karol (later Charles) 2. Natalia indicated that her husband was living in Hoboken, NJ
Natalia gave birth to two more children in the United States. Olga's place of birth in thr 1910 Census is "New Jersey" and Julius was born in New York. Interestingly, on the same 1910 Census, Natalia is said to have given birth to 7 children, with all 7 still living. If this is not an error, the identity of the seventh child is unknown.
According to a passport application filled out by August Kroll, Jr., August Kroll had been born in Russia. He placed his father's emigration in 1897 (but records indicate in was 1900) and his date of naturalization 10 June 1913.
August was not living with the family when the 1920 census was taken. He is likely the August Kroll who died in Brooklyn on 30 March, 1919. Natalia lists herself as a widow.
