The Clan Leslie Society
In 1978 the 21st Earl of Rothes, Chief of Clan Leslie, authorized the formation of the Society and appointed the Honorable Alexander Leslie Klieforth, a U. S. Diplomat, to undertake its organization. The Clan Leslie Society (formerly know as the American Clan Leslie Society), was founded, members recruited and its constitution and by-laws which govern the Society approved. They were ratified at the first Clan Leslie Society's National Gathering in 1980 in Charleston, SC, which the first Society's chieftain and slate of officers were elected. The Society's National Gatherings are held biannually in various parts of the United States.
