All right, this is how it goes ... for new guests to this magic section, you might just move to the first section called ... Coincidences ... and move on from there, as though you were sitting in my living room and I'd be demonstrating trick after trick ... just sit right there ... now isn't that comfortable? ... eat, eat ... have something, enjoy.

For those already familiar with some of these pages, I'm placing before you a listing of the different tricks with a brief description ... thus avoiding the necessity of sitting through the tricks you have already seen ... now where do you find such a helpful host ... that section's called ... The List ... use it, look around, be my guest.


THE LIST

Coincidences - Henri IV, Louis XIV, and Lincoln/Kennedy - not exactly magic, but interesting.
Card Trick 1 ... you're there, and I'm here ... what makes the number card disappear?

Hope you enjoy it ... don't take it too seriously ... see if you can figure out the secret to the tricks ... believe me, there's no conjuring, no sleight of hand ... just pure entertainment.

And remember, magic is not hard to do once you are "in the know." ... And sometimes the simpler the explanation of a trick, the more difficult it is for people to figure it out.


COINCIDENCES or what?

These are not exactly magic, but the coincidences amaze me ... think about these:

Fourteen in its connection with Henri IV, and Louis XIV.
Relationships between Lincoln and Kennedy ... overpowers the mind.
Are the following curious and strange coincidences?

HENRI IV

There are 14 letters in the name Henri deBourbon.
He was the 14th king of France.
He was born on Dec. 14, 1553, the sum of which year amounts to 14.
On May14, 1552, was born Marguerite de Valois, his first wife.
On May 14, 1588, the Parisians rose in revolt against him, because he was a "heretic."
On March 14, 1590, he won the great battle of Ivry.
On May 14, 1590, a grand ecclesiastical-military demonstration was organized against him.
On Nov. 14, 1590, the Sixteen took an oath to die rather than submit to a "heretic" king.
It was Gregory XIV. who issued a Bull excluding Henri from the throne.
On Nov. 14, 1592, the Paris parliament registered the papal Bull.
On Dec. 14, 1599, the Duke of Savoy was reconciled to Henri IV.
On Sept. 14, 1606, was baptized the Dauphin (afterwards Louis XIII.), son of Henri IV.
On May 14, 1610, Henry was assassinated by Ravaillac.
He lived 4 times 14 years, 14 weeks, 14 days.

LOUIS XIV

He was the 14th king with that name.
He mounted the throne 1643, the sum of which figures equals 14.
He died 1715, the sum of which figures also equals 14.
He reigned 77 years, the sum of which two figures equals 14.
He was born 1638, died 1715, which added together equals 3353,
~~ the sum of which figures comes to 14 ~~

LINCOLN AND KENNEDY

Abraham Lincoln was elected to congress in 1846.
John F. Kennedy was elected to congress in 1946.

Abraham Lincoln was elected president in 1860.
John F. Kennedy was elected President in 1960.

The names Lincoln and Kennedy each contain seven letters.

Both were particularly concerned with civil rights.

Both wives lost their husbands while living in the White House.

Lincoln's secretary was named Kennedy.
Kennedy's secretary was named Lincoln.

Both Presidents were shot on a Friday.

Lincoln was shot in Ford's Theater.
Kennedy was shot while riding in a Ford Lincoln.

Both were shot in the head.

Both were assassinated by southerners.

Both were succeeded by southerners.

Both successors were named Johnson.

Andrew Johnson, who succeeded Lincoln, was born in 1808.
Lyndon Johnson, who succeeded Kennedy, was born in 1908.

John Wilkes Booth, who assassinated Lincoln, was born in 1839.
Lee Harvey Oswald, who assassinated Kennedy was born in 1939.

Both assassins were known by three names.

Both names contain fifteen letters.

Booth ran from the theater and was caught in a warehouse.
Oswald ran from a warehouse and was caught in a theater.

Booth and Oswald were assassinated before their trials.

And last but not least...

A week before Lincoln was shot, he was in Monroe, Maryland.
A week before Kennedy was shot, he was in Marilyn Monroe.
