Multimedia Communication Model Heba's multimedia model of communication "decenters the primacy of print in favor of a more democratic view of the communication environment as one that is made up of many sources and many media" (130). Heba's argument suggests that traditional models and approaches to written communication are not adequate to prepare technical communicators to become multimedia literate. He commends the strong emphasis on visual communication that has occurred in recent years; however, he also contends that we must become both users and designers of sound, moving pictures and animation, and learn ways of integrating all these elements into a coherent electronic document (130). |
