1367. Raymond Gager Buckalew. Born on 24 April 1889. Raymond Gager died in Bloomsburg, Columbia Co., PA, about 1973; he was 83. Buried in New Rosemont Cem, Bloomsburg, Columbia Co., PA.

Abt 1973, Columbia C., PA, Newspaper: "Raymond G. Buckalew, 84, of 17 West Fifth St, Bloomsburg, died at Maple Crest Nursing Home, Bloomsburg, at two a.m. Thursday.
"Born April 24, 1889, he was a son of the Late Russell and Mary Gager Buckalew and was graduated from Philadelphia College of Pharmacy in 1913. Following graduation, he worked as a druggest in hazleton and for Moyer Brothers in Bloomsburg until 1929 when he began a long career in the automibile business, first with Packard, then with General Motors. He operated Buckalew Chevrolet-Cadillac agency in Bloomsburg from the early 1930s until the 1950s.
"Very active in community affairs, he was a member of the First Presbyterian Church; Washington Lodge F, and A.M. 265; Caldwell Consistory; Royal Arch Chapter 234; Crusade Commandery Knights Templer; a Past Exalted Ruler of Bloomsburg Elks; former member and president of the Bloomsburg School Board; Bloomsburg Library; former trustee of the First Presbyterian Church; member of the advisory board of the United Penn. Bank; a former Columbia County Commissioner; Westmoreland Club of Wilkes-Barre; Wyoming Valley Motor Club; advisory board of Columbia-Montour Motor Club, and former member of Bloomsburg Town Council.
"Surviving are a daughter, Mrs. Jane Beacham of Chatham, N.J.; two grandchildren; a sister, Mrs. Harry Rider, Bloomsburg.
"Funeral services will be held at two p.m. Saturday from the Harry W. Rishel Funeral Home, Eighth and Market streets, Bloomsburg, with the Rev. Glen Heuholt, his pastor, officiating. Burial will be in New Rosemont cemetery."
