Hi Les
Just for the info bank I wanted to let you know that my Dad died last Tuesday, Oct 16th. He was 86. Dad was Robert Eugene Bucklew, son of Ellsworth Lee Bucklew of Dallas, Iowa and Inez Stotts of Garden City, KS. Dad was born 17 May 1915.He was healthy most of his life. Let a very active younger life as an
original member of the US Army Field Band, stationed at the Pentagon. His instrument was the French Horn in which he received a classical education in KC and in Chicago under Louis LaFronz and others. Dad taught at the KC Conservatory and was a member of the Kansas City Symphony in the 1940s. He traveled all over the world and was a fantastic photographer. Unfortunately he never knew about his Bucklew family before I delved into
genealogy. He was an only child. He enjoyed all the things I uncovered about his Scotch-Irish and Bucklew roots. He had gotten quite frail of late and was suffering from dementia. His death was not unexpected but sad nevertheless.
