Les thankyou so much I was tearfully happy at reading all about my dad and his roots you have made my day, heres some history on my family dad also none as Sonny(Mahlon)Buckalew passed away Oct.1976 from cancer he was only 47.Mom (Ruth)Buckalew raised all of us kids by herself from this day she never remarried.Dad retired from the army he got alot of medals while in the army,he was a hero, silver star,purple heart etc...,There are 3 sons and 2 daughters that mom and dad brought into to this world together here is all the info on my family brothers:allen edward buckalew passed away at the age of 27 on june of 1989-francis irene buckalew now irene kelly age 37 married 2 children erin kelly 16 yrs.old,kristen kelly age 13 years old and irene,s spouse charles all reside in granger,texas,brother mahlon buckalew jr. also known as sonny 35 years old married 2 children stevie rae buckalew 11 years old paige buckalew 9 years old wife amanda buckalew resides in taylor,texas,myself diane buckalew age 32 married 4 children kris 8 yrs.old,meaghan 6 yrs old,lennon&jacob 19 month old twins and spouse anthony resides in austin,texas,baby brother named after grandpa buckalew, dell

Hello Les.   I was really shocked that my sister, Diane had actually found my father's ancestors.  I had tried on several occasions, but after a few weeks gave up.  My name is Irene Buckalew (full name: Frances Irene Buckalew - born on AUg 8, 1963 - my father is Mahlon Buckalew - born on Feb 8, 1932 and passed away Oct 1978. I remember meeting my grandmother Irene when I was a child.  I also met my Uncle "Shorty" and his children, but we never got to meet our Aunt "Betty" whom I believe lives in Florida.  We never knew much about my fathers family, and I'm interested in learning more.  His children are listed below.   Allen Edward Buckalew - born 11-6-1961  died 06-23-1989 Frances Irene Buckalew "Kelly" born 08-08-1963  - married to Charles Kelly - 2 children Erin Kelly and Kristen Kelly Diane Marie Buckalew -born 10-21-1970 - married to Anthony Morales - 4 children, Kristopher, Meaghan, twins Jacob and Lennon Dell Wayne Buckalew - born 01-22-1972 - married to Alice - 4 children, Dell, Jr, Brian Allen, Brandon and Alyssa Mahlon Edward Buckalew - born 07-10-1968 - married to Amanda - 2 children - Stevie and Paige   Our mother, Ruth Buckalew is alive and well, after my father passed away she never remarried. Our father also raised his step children  Robert, Rita and Freddie from my mothers previous marriage.  He was a great man, unfortunately cancer took him at the age of 47.
