Circle/Emboss/CoLamanderze Example
This 3D textured oval with smooth raised text was made by applying a deformation, two PSP filters, and a PSP effect, along with CoLamanderze. Here are the step-by-step instructions:
- Open a new, white-background image 200 pixels wide and 200 pixels high. It doesn't matter what you choose as the foreground color as long as it isn't white.
- Select the text tool and click within the image. Choose Arial Black, Italic, 48 pts. Be sure that antialiasing is selected. Enter "Wine" as the text.
- Position the text in the middle of the image. Then choose Selections | Invert.
- Select Image | Noise | Add. In the Add Noise dialog box, check Random and set the percentage to 10%. Next, select Image | Deformations | Circle.
- Select Image | Other | Emboss.
- Select Color | CoLamanderze. I used Hue 255 with Saturation 130.
- Now choose the Selection tool, with Selection type Ellipse. Define an elliptical selection around the word "Wine".
- With this selection set, first choose Image | Effects | Cutout, setting the Shadow color to Black, Opacity to 100, Blur to 2, Vertical to -4 and Horizontal to 4. Be sure that Fill with Interior Color is not selected.
After clicking OK, choose Image | Effects | Cutout again, but this time set Shadow color to White, Vertical to 4 and Horizontal to -4.
- Now select Selections | Invert, and then Edit | Clear (making sure that the background color is white).
Again select Selections | Invert, and then Image | Crop.
Save this image as a transparent GIF. You can then use it as a button or as an accent image.
