A Brief History of
Pansea District 51
- There are over 150 Toastmasters Clubs in District 51.
- In August 1996, we became a full District.
- In 1996-97, we achieved the President's Distinguished District Award, ranking 2nd in the world
- For 1997-98, we are going all out to be the No 1 District in the world
- We also expect Hong Kong Toastmasters to join District 51 in July 1, 1998!
- How did it all started?
- In 1991, Toastmasters of Clubs in Malaysia, Singapore, Thailand and Indonesia formed the PANSEA Territorial Council.
- In 1993, District 51P was granted provisional status.

- Territorial Conventions were held in Subang(Kuala Lumpur), Penang, Kuching, Pattaya, Singapore.
- District 51P Convention venues were Bangkok Semi 93, Kota Kinabalu Annual 94, Singapore Semi 94, Jakarta Annual 95, Kuala Lumpur Semi 95, Penang Annual 96.
- The first District 51 Semi 96 was in Malacca and Annual 97 at Johor Bahru.
We had a fantastic Semi 97 in ParkRoyal Hotel, Kuala Lumpur and memorable Annual 98 at Holiday Inn Damai Lagoon Resort, Kuching.
