The student is given a selection of instructions which include the descriptions of boundaries of areas which are to be inspected. A simple, walking meditation is all that is required, tho' the student may go about it in a more formal way if desired. The areas will be typically no more than a few city blocks square and will not impinge upon private property. It is hoped that the student will obtain a "feel" for the locations, record various impressions about them and perhaps "dowse out" other particulars.
This is not a pass/fail exam. There is no "right answer to get". Passage of the test is contingent upon actually doing it and making careful notes of the work. The principle purpose of it is manifold, but mostly revolves around evaluating the student's psychic abilities, particularly his or her attunement to the work at hand. Secondary to this is the gathering of subjective data for archival purposes.
