BEST FRIENDS Hi, I decided to dedicate a complete page to my best friend, Cathy. I figured that since we have practically spent half our lives together, it's only right that she gets her own page. I have been friends with Cathy since our junior year in high school. That equals 13 years! We have seen each other through the good and the bad times. We know each other's strengths and weaknesses and we still love each other dearly (LOL). I know that I can count on her no matter what. After all these years I can say that our friendship only gets better with age. With the years comes wisdom and knowledge of what a true friendship should be. I have to admit that when we were younger, we did not really know what friendship was all about. One certainly doesn't realize the work that goes into a friendship when they are young (sorry for any stereotyping, but most of the time this is true). As we get older and see the pain and the happiness that life brings, this is when you can judge a friendship. Through clear weather or stormy, Cathy has always been there for me and I for her. We met in our US history class our junior year and became friends from the word go. For years, we compete in Scottish Highland Dancing together. We were both members of our school band, her in the drill team and I in the colorguard. We worked the Renaissance and Dickens Christmas Faires together FOR YEARS (something like 9 years!). At the Ren. Faire we were in the Scottish guild and directed the dancing for the Scots show (Cathy continued directing when I went to another group for a couple of years). For the longest time people would call me Cathy and her Lori, heck I've even called her Lori a few times (LOL). Cathy is beautiful, intelligent and trustworthy. She has a spirit that can be felt over long distances. Her personality and mine are very similar in many respects. She is very organized, dedicated and loyal. Neither of us are procrastinators and we love to be very active. Cathy loves to travel and enjoys a good party. She has been to Mardi Gras the last three years and has visited Mexico on vacation. She is very spiritual and instinctive, often knowing things without being told about them. All in all, she is the best person one could have as a friend. I have been blessed with love in this friendship. Thank you Cathy for always sharing your warmth and love, and a few fights with me through the years!! I look forward to many more years!
