Just Once

I can see it so clearly in my mind.

The sunny day,
warm breeze on our face,
and fragrant flowers scent the air.

Hand in hand we stroll up the woodland path,
whispered words to keep the moment.

Your thigh brushes the back of my hand repeatedly,
stirring my heart,
flushing my face,
my breathing jagged.

May I steal a kiss I wonder?

Then you stop,
turn toward me and give me that look,
one that completely melts my will.

Drawn to each other slowly,
our lips meet in sweet tenderness,
tenderness that says love and caring.

Our arms embrace each other,
bodies mold together,
souls confined to a common shell,
and hearts in snyc as one.

Just once.

Just this once.

Do not let me wake up.
