Nosty II stands for
Nostradamus II. Back in October 1998, while I was still in Nassau, Bahamas, I had just read a translation
of Nostradamus's Centuries. To verify the translation, I looked on the web only to find out that all
current popular translations are wrong. It seems the translators, however intelligent and well-versed,
find the meaning that they want to find rather than being impartial, either knowingly or unknowingly. I
then subscribed to the newsgroup alt.prophesies.nostradamus to learn of people's views, only to
find out that there were few meaningful posts and even fewer people who knew the subject.
After a few days, I decided to post on the newsgroup just for fun, as an Indian Yogi-astrologer. I thought about the
events that had been making news for the last month or so and decided to predict the outcomes of these
events in the next few months. I therefore predicted the US air-strikes in Iraq in December, with little
details about how and when it would happen. I also made two more predictions; one on the Russia-Chechnya
conflict and something on the deterioration of the situation in the Balkans. A few people must have
forwarded my post to their friends and relatives, who in turn forwarded it to theirs. When the US
air-strikes came true in December, many people believed that I really was a Yogi. As a result, I started
receiving many emails. I can say that I had a following for at least a couple of months afterwards. I had
become a true fakir, having fooled intelligent people in this day and age just as fakirs have been doing
for hundreds of years in the Indian sub-continent.
As Nostradamus is nicknamed Nosty on the newsgroup, I started calling myself Nosty II since then.
