Ancient Chinese Curses

Here is a list (however scanty at the moment) of several of those wonderful "Ancient Chinese Curses" that have been floating around cyberspace over the years. I am told by some of my Chinese friends that some of them are actual curses that have been translated into English. I am told by others that they are nothing but Americanized rubbish. Some say that these came from a fortune cookie. If nothing else, it gives you something to think about. Enjoy!

"May all your wishes come true."

"May you live in interesting times."

"May you live in interesting times and come to the attention of important people."

But one must always remember: "Better to light a candle than to curse the darkness." -- Ancient Chinese Proverb
