This unit does not seek to treat the historical aspects of the Shoah, or Holocaust. In light of the subject I teach-- Religion-- I have chosen to focus on some of the moral implications which the Shoah brings to the foreground. The unit includes a lesson plan for a class dedicated to the lives of people who managed to either physically or spiritually resist the Nazis, a lesson plan for a class which will explore the role of Pope Pius XII, and a worksheet with eight essay questions which is suitable for a review or homework assignment. |
