DOMINION

Dominions or Dominations regulate angelic duties. Through them the majesty of God is manifested. They hold an orb or a scepter as an emblem of authority, and, in Hebraic lore, the chief of this order is named Zadkiel or Zaphiel.

In most accounts they are are the fourth order of angels in the angelic hierarchy. Some call them the angels of mercy, others call them the angels of leadership, spirits of Wisdom - the list goes on.

They are said to dwell in the Second Heaven (Raquia), princed by Baradi'el and are responsible for governing angelic duties in all the spiritual and physical worlds. Their assignments come from God directly and they rarely communicate with humans personally.

The power of the Dominion Choir is so vast that it transcends the human imagination. Their power is then mediated from the Dominions to the lesser Choirs of angels over the entire Cosmos, including the planet Earth. The Dominions represent exquisite order and the discipline of order. The law of perfect cause and effect flows through them to all creation.

The Dominions greatly transcend the sovereignty of the lesser choirs of Angels, who are subject to them in obedience. They are great Ministers of God's Justice to the cosmos and the world and govern the forces of chaos, especially unruly passions. Their instructions, according to one source, come directly from the Thrones who dwell in the very presence of God.

Their leaders are Zadkiel, Hashmal, Yahriel and Muriel.
