Pictures from this time period are hard to come
by. I stumble upon some every now and then.
These
first four pictures were taken four to five years before The Jennings House of
Horror began. I estimate that these pictures are from 1984 or 1985.
They were taken at my parents house in the hallway that lead to my bedroom and
bathroom.
In
this and the above picture, take note of the duct tape on my right hand.
That was there in an attempt to hide my hand. I was trying to hide my
humanity but I didn't have gloves so I used the next best thing - Duct
Tape! Pretty logical, eh? I suppose when your 15 years old it
is. The knife looks pretty cool though.
Look's painful doesn't it? This picture was taken
in the back of my mom's pick-up truck which, in 1986, became my first vehicle!
As
you can see I enjoyed holding knives, staging death with fake blood, and so
forth. I was desperately in need of a creative outlet, but five years
would pass before I would invent the Jennings House of Horror.
This
was my first year as Michael Myers, 1994 I think. I bought the Don Post
mask and coveralls (called a jumpsuit if you're my nephew). I was wearing
my black, steel toe work boots. In fact this photo was taken at Ben's
Steakhouse, my old employer. As an aside, it was always great to work
there around Halloween because on the closest Saturday to the 31st, they had a
big party and the entire staff worked in costume.
These
were taken the same year as Michael Myers. The pumpkins were for the
Jennings House of Horror which, is a name that came about in 1995 methinks.
Notice
how Keith's head resembles the pumpkins. Didn't they make a movie out of
this...Pumpkinhead?
The
1996 flyer, our first. This can be credited to Keith who decided we needed
a flyer for the move to Bengal Circle that year. It was a great idea that
we still use. The haunt that year was huge, a larger cast than ever before
and tons of people showed up - we actually had to turn people away at the
end! The flyer almost worked too well, we weren't prepared for such a
turnout. Unfortunately we were not invited back...I think the
neighbors shunned the owners of the house afterwards.
