Salaamun Alaykum

Members are kindly requested to ignore and discard  the previous message
inadvertantly posted by me today as it was meant only for internal discussion at
the ABDG-A.  Any inconvenience caused by that message is deeply regreted.

I am attaching a question that the Moderators for ABDG-A  have received
requesting information on the names and level of scholarship of the Alims in the
ABDG-A  Alim Network and our clarification  in answer to that question is given
for the general information of members.

Question:

Q.  Would you be kind enough to tell me the names and level of scholarship of
the Alims in the Network ie.  if someone is Mujtahed, Maraja, etc. 

Answer:

The  names of the Alims currently include Shaykh Hasnain Kassamali, Shaykh Hamid
Mavani, Sayed Mohamad Rizvi, Shaykh Mustafa Jaffer  and Dr Liyakat Takim. None
of them are mujtahids but they are all scholars/Aalims (belonging to the Islamic
Shia Ithna-Asheri School of thought who follow the Fiqh of Imam Jaffer As-Sadiq
a.s.) and are knowledgeable and  seek to provide answers to questions put to
them  based on the fatwas of leading Mujtahids and recognised authorities in the
Ahlul Bait Jaaferi school of thought .
