Rizvi . Jazakallah With Duas and Salaams Maqbul Rahim Acting Moderator for ABDG-A ........................................................................... Question: Please base the replies on rulings of Ayat. Khameini and Ayat Seestani. I've heard that suras 93/94 (Fil/Quraish) as well as suras 105/106 (Dhuha/Inshirah) are supposed to be recited together. Like if you recite suratul Fil, you have to recite suratul Quraish at the same time. My question is, how is this supposed to work? Like during prayer if you recite suratul Fil in the first rakat after al-Fatiha, then does that mean that in the second rakat you must recite suratul Quraish? Is this a wajib thing or sunnah? ........................................................................... Answer: Almost all our past and present mujtahids are unanimous in saying that for the purpose of recitation in salat, surah Fil (#105) and surah Quraysh (#106) are to be counted as one; similarly, surah Dhuha (#93) and surah Inshirah (#94) are to be counted as one. This means that after reciting surah al-Hamd, if you choose to recite surah Fil as the second surah, then you must also recite surah Quraysh (in complete form with its own Bismillah...) in the same rak`at before going to ruku. Same procedure has to be followed if, after al-Hamd, you choose to recite surah Dhuha, then you must also recite surah Inshirah in that same rak`at before going to ruku.
