Fee Amaanillah, Akil Karim Moderator - 'Aalim Network ---------- Forwarded Message ---------- QUESTION: A company has installed tilawat-e-Quran on its telephone exchange and when people are put on hold, they listen to this tilawat instead of some music. While it shows the owner's commitment to the religion, my concern is that not every caller put on hold is a Muslim, nor does he understand Arabic, and thus such people may not extend the respect to what they are listening, which tilawat deserves. Please explain whether it is right or wrong, and why. ANSWER: There is no harm in installing such a system even if the listener does not understand Arabic. The question of disrespect arises when one mishandles or desecrates the Qur'an, a point which is not germane here. with salaams and du'as Liyakatali Takim
