Regards Abbas Jaffer Moderator - 'Aalim Network ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Question 1 I have heard that one of a wife's duties toward her husband is that she must protect his belongings, not giving them away or allowing them to be taken or damaged. Does the husband also have this duty towards his wife's belongings? Or can he give away or loan her things to someone else without telling her? Please base answers on rulings of Ayat. Khamenei. Answer: The wife has authority over her belongings and nobody including her husband can interfere with her possessions. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Question 2 I understand that a wife must tell her husband where she is going and when she will return, to the best of her ability. Shouldn't a husband also tell his wife where he is going and when he will return, to the best of his ability? Especially since emergencies sometimes occur at home and he may be needed to help? Please base answer on rulings of Ayat. Khamenei. Answer: The husband has no obligation as to the said problem.
