QUESTION:

What are Ayatullahs Khomeini, Khui and Seestani's rulings on the
permissibility of smoking?


ANSWER:

Ayatullah Khui and Ayatullah Seestani consider smoking as Makrooh.  And if
it is identified as specifically harmful by a doctor for his patient, then
it is haraam.  As for Ayatullah Khomeini, he considered it Makrooh as well,
but he also ruled that it is haraam for the beginners.
