Wasalaam, Mustafa Rawji Moderator, 'Aalim Network ------------------------------------------------------------------------ QUESTION: Would it be acceptable for me to use the profits I gain from investments I make in the currency market to fund masjids or Muslim organizations? For example, the Malaysian ringgit fell to M$4.80 ringgit per dollar but eventually rose to M$3.80 ringgit per US dollar. Would it be permissable for me to have made my money by buying the ringgit at M$4.80 and then re-selling it at M$3.80 ringgit? Keep in mind that I will use the profits to help a local organization. ANSWER: This is allowed as long as there is no direct disadvantage to Muslims living in Malaysia. With Salaams and Duas Mustafa
