The One

This picture was finished on 4 July 2003. That is just another day, is it not? Well, let me leave the year: 4 July. What day is that? Can you guess?

If you think the way Sherlock Holmes does, listing out all possibilities and eliminating possibilities until you are left with only one possibility, perhaps this fact can help you eliminate at least one possibility: I live in Asia.

Too many possibilities? Well, then check if you have "my best friend's birthday" among the possibilities that you did not eliminate.
You do? You may consider to be a program tester then. Listing out as many possibilities as possible is a necessary quality needed from a tester. But I have drifted too far off-topic. I just want to say that I drew this for my best friend's birthday :D

Just after I finished it, I was quite happy with this drawing. Now, I am not happy anymore. The first mistake that I found is the shape of the lenses. Then, the texture of the coat is horrible. I need to practise more with textures. Posting this in an online forum, I was shown another mistake: the jaw on the right.
I hope my friend did not notice all these ;_;

Dimension: A5 (21 x 14.8 cm)
Paper: printing paper
Pencils: 2B mechanical, 6B, 2B, and HB genuines
Work duration: around three days for pencilling (with most time dedicated to refining, especially the facial lines) plus around six of rendering
Date finished: 4 July 2003

Uninteresting (and not needed, actually) trivia:
(1) This is the first pencil rendering I finished in my new house in Faber Hills.
(2) I finished this exactly one month after I finished a Trinity drawing.
