Flower essences are a form of vibrational medicine that were discovered in England by Dr Edward Bach. His intuition was so sensitive that he was able to touch a drop of dew from the flower of a petal and he would develop the symptoms which that flower healed. This was a discovery made by accident, and, recognising the need for potentisation, he began experiments that would enhance the effect of the flower essences. The following discoveries were made: |

From these discoveries, the contents of the Bach Flower Essences was discovered. These remedies are all taken internally, have no distinguishing scent (and are not like Aromatherapy), and can be added to any drink (and are not similar to Homeopathic remedies in this way). They are made by filling a bowl of water and covering it's surface with the specific flower. This bowl is then placed in the sun for a day and then filtered into bottles and the mixture made into 40% strength alcohol using brandy. To administer, 3 - 7 drops under the tongue twice daily. Dr Edward Bach claimed that his remedies, when combined specifically for the individual, could cure any problem associated with the mind or attitude. This is because there are 38 base attitudes, and each individual suffers from a combination of any of these base attitudes.
If a person was administered with the wrong remedy, then it would simply have no effect upon that individual. No flower essence produces side-effects - it either heals or it does nothing. This is why it was possible for other individuals to then apply Bach's philosophies to other areas of the globe. Bach's remedies all use English plants, and they cannot be obtained all over the planet, and besides, native plants of a country will better effect natives of the area (if a person is born in Canada, then while an essence from an African plant may be beneficial, parts of that vibration are foreign to the individual, and so may not have as great an effect as an essence from Canada would).
For this reason, flower remedies from Australia, Alaska, England, Europe and other areas of the globe are available. They are all just as effective as the other (in my belief - some say because the essence's energy has a large amount to do with the sun, then the Australian essences are much stronger), and so the choice of remedy comes down to the choice of the individual.
To give an idea of the kind of things that flower essences will cure, I have provided a list below of the Bach Flower Essences. This was obtained from the DR EDWARD BACH CENTRE. |

RESCUE REMEDY |
|
|
The rescue remedy is a combination remedy that works only in the short term, but very quickly. For example, you might put a few of the above essences together to create a remedy to help a student deal with stress before (or during) exams.
Essences work purely due to vibrational qualities. They can be used to treat anyone of any age, are safe to use with pregnant women (there is an essence used specifically to stop the unborn baby from inheriting any of the family's weaknesses such as inherited diseases, etc) and as mentioned previously, have no side-effects. If a person is worried about the alcohol content of the essence, the above recipe is for the Mother Tincture. There is seven drops of the Mother Tincture in every 100mL of water. It is this essence that is then administered to the patient. Essences will not provoke any alcoholic tendencies, or provide users with the buzz obtained from alcohol (providing they don't drink the Mother Tincture!).
