What is the S.C.A. you may ask. Well, to put it simply, it's a bunch of people interested in History, who like to recreate certian aspects of it. Granted, it's a more idylic version of History than those days really were. Most people who are in the S.C.A. are fighters. There are a lot of different aspects of medieval society that they focus on. Some people are artisans, and recreate objects using the same methods they used in the middle ages. Some people are musicians, cooks, smiths, or any other vocation that existed in those days. The thing that most people know about the S.C.A. is the recreation of combat and battles. There are a lot of rules that the S.C.A. follows to make sure the combat is safe (so you can go back to the modern day world and go back to work). Even though you aren't killing you opponent, you still inflict bruises and such. There are a lot of different S.C.A. chapters all over the world. Look them up in the phone book or on the web, and go check them out. Most of the people are "different", but I find them all to be friendly and willing to do just about anything for another S.C.A. member.
