The Philalethes Society

A Masonic research organization. Membership is open to all Master Masons. Its publication "The Philalethes" covers Masonic topics ranging from history, esoteric (ritual and symbolism), to current events.

The Grand Lodge of Pennsylvania

Home of The Right Worshipful Grand Lodge of Free and Accepted Masons of Pennsylvania and Masonic Jurisdictions Thereunto Belonging, as it is formally known. At one time, this grand lodge warranted lodges outside of Pennsylvania, hence the strange phrase at the end of its title. It is the oldest grand lodge in the Americas (sorry Mass.) Grand Lodges preside over the first three degrees of Freemasonry. No esoteric information on the Web site, of course, but lots of info about the grand lodge and the services it offers. Numerous links to other sites, mostly local lodge home pages. A good place to start your research. If you have any interest in Freemasonry and live in or plan to visit the Philadelphia area, you do not want to miss touring this magnificient structure. Its architecture is simply spectacular. They have an oustanding Masonic library, and there is nothing a serious researcher could fail to "uncover" by using this facility. Seek and ye shall find. Knock and it shall be opened unto you.

The Grand Holy Royal Arch Chapter of Pennsylvania

This body presides over the 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th Degrees of Freemasonry. Membership is open to all Master Masons (3rd Degree).

The Grand Encampment Of Knights Templar Of The United States Of America

The Commandery or The Knights Templar are the pinnacle of the York Rite. They accept Christian Royal Arch Masons (7th Degree) as members. Some Grand Commanderies require applicants to be members of a Council of Royal and Select Master Masons (10th Degree). This organization is distinctly different from other Masonic bodies in that it openly espouses Christianity. Generally, Masonic bodies are religion-neutral.

York Rite Freemasonry

The York Rite of Freemasonry consists of the Blue Lodges (1-3 Degrees), the Holy Royal Arch Chapters (4-7 Degrees), the Councils of Royal and Select Master Masons (8-10 Degrees) and The Knights Templar, who receive Orders, not Degrees.

The Ancient And Accepted Scottish Rite For The Northern Masonic Jurisdiction Of The U.S.

The Supreme Council of The Scottish Rite presides over the 4-33rd and final degree of Freemasonry. This body's Degrees are different from those of the York Rite. Membership is open to all Master Masons (3rd Degree).

Anti-anti-Masonic Web Site

Want to get the most up to date information on anti-Masonry and the forms it takes. This site is owned by Edward L. King, MPS. A very interesting site with critical need-to-know information for every Mason. Non-Masons should find this quite enlightening also.

Masonic Educational and Informational Sources

This site has some very good information and links explaining Freemasonry; although, some of the links are no longer working. It's a shame because they seemed to be important links. But it's definitely worth a look.

Masonic Index

Nothing fancy, just good plain basic information for those seeking Light about Masonry. There's also a few good Masonic poems.

MSA - Masonic Service Association of North America
