The Club's major scholarship fund raising event is an annual Wine Tasting
Garden Party. The money raised through this event is donated to local students
attending Smith. For over thirty years, these festivities have been hosted in the garden
of a local alumna (or an alternate indoor location in case of rain) and supported by wine
and auction donations from area businesses and individuals. To view information

2000 Wine Tasting
"Wines from Tuscany"
This year, the wine tasting will take place on Wednesday, May 24 at
the home of Pamela Steiner. We will be graced with the presence of President Ruth
Simmons, who will be celebrating her 5th anniversary with Smith College! The
following wines from the Italian region of Tuscany will be showcased:
- Vernaccia di San Gimignano, San Quirico 1997 (white)
- I Campetti, L'Accesa 1997 Bianco (white)
- Castello La Leccia, Chianti Classico 1997 (red)
- I Campetti, Castruccio 1997b (red)
- Ricasoli (a dessert wine)
Our goal for this year is to raise $13,000. If you would like to volunteer for
this event, please contact one of the following co-chairs:
Laurie Bejoian (617) 923-0305
l.bejoian@att.net
or
Kelly Cramer (617) 923-7068

A wine tasting committee meeting will be scheduled sometime before Thanksgiving, but
there's still plenty of time to sign up! If your class would like to sponsor a wine
table for $300, please let either Laurie or Kelly know. |
