2/26/99 - Completed classwork for February, and now the first two weeks of March are up - here's a good chance for my students to peek at what we'll be working on in March! Have been sick, so haven't added a lot of new student work - hope to remedy that situation this weekend. Thanks to all who have commented and voted, please pass our site onto a friend.

2/10/99 - Thank you to everyone who has emailed or commented to point out typos in the site. No matter how many times I proof-read, I seem to miss them. The typos are entirely my fault, too many late nights spent typing. I'll correct as many of them as are found. To those who commented on word choice or style in the writings, please remember that these are freshman, and I have attempted to enter their work exactly as it was submitted to me. It was difficult, the temptation to alter, correct, improve was great. I did not alter them, because I didn't want anyone to doubt that these works are student - not teacher derived. The only thing I did was choose or create the graphics, and coded the pages. Please offer suggestions for improvement to the students, if you have any. This is how they learn. Thank you again.

2/9/99 - Added some free verse by Melanie S., a lovely little piece called Hawaii

2/8/99 - Well, we opened the site to the district. Here are some answers to questions that were asked of me. If you have a question, please email us. Leave us your name or email so we can send you the answer! Please read...
  • Regarding work on the Elizabethan Quintet site, you will notice that they have linked citations after a quote, if one is used. All references, whether quoted or mearly used for research are listed on their resources page. So if you'd like to see what books they used visit their resource site.
  • If the words seem to overlap the left border graphics of the site, it is because you don't have your computer settings on 800x600. In order to view the site properly, you should be using Netscape 3 or better and adjust your settings. To adjust your settings, point your mouse cursor at the desktop. Right click your mouse button. Select settings from the pop up box. Change the settings to 800x600 and 16bit (or better) color. If you have trouble, email me and I'll send more explicit instructions. With these settings, the site looks great and you don't have that annoying overlap (by the way, the majority of websites created for the Internet are created based on these settings.)
  • In answer to the question of why The Sympathy Sisters didn't refer to other poems, they were allowed to choose their own topic and wanted to work soley on this work. We did read other poetry in class by Paul Dunbar and Langston Hughes.
Thank you to everyone who asked and please keep the questions and comments rolling!

1/28/99 - Finally finished getting all of the Student Websites online. Well, at least as many of them as I could without eating up all the space on the site. Please visit them, and don't forget to VOTE for your favorite. The winning team gets $50.00 to share. Will open the site on Feb. 1st, all other student work will be added daily, as I get to it.

12/25/98 - Am finishing creating and linking the index web. Once completed, it's just a matter of adding the student work. I'm really looking forward to hearing what the kids think of their site!
